Full Job Description
As a member of our Vehicle Architecture Systems Engineering team you will define, validate, and verify Archer requirements while working with our systems and specialty engineering teams to ensure proper requirements flow-down and proper validation and verification activities. You will be supporting critical aircraft functions that are crucial for the safety and the success of the Archer Midnight eVTOL aircraft. You will also be supporting the aircraft certification activities, defining and implementing the approach to showing compliance with regulatory requirements from the FAA and other authorities around the world.
What you'll do:
  • Manage aircraft-level requirements and execute their validation and verification activities following Archer processes that are based on ARP-4754A.
  • Coordinate with other Systems Engineers to ensure the fully integrated system meets its requirements and is optimized.
  • Define and manage architecture and interfaces, while driving HW and SW definitions that accomplish mission objectives.
  • Support systems and specialty engineering teams in the development of lower-level requirement sets with other systems engineers, technical leads, and subject matter experts
  • Participate in mutli-disciplinary integration testing, troubleshooting, and problem solving
  • Support major development milestones, including CoDR, PDR, CDR, as well as operational milestones such as FRR, TRR, etc.
  • Support aircraft level and integrated behavior testing and Archer flight test.
  • Support development of compliance documentation including test procedures and test reports to support validation, verification, and certification.
  • Interface directly with other aircraft systems teams, with our suppliers, and with laboratories and aircraft testing teams.

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field
  • Experience developing or working with integrated systems (aerospace preferred)
  • Experience in requirements based or model based product development including validation and verification activities (aerospace preferred)
  • Experience with requirements management tools like DOORS, Polarion, Jama, etc.
  • Exposure to product or system level testing including using data from digital buses (aerospace buses is a bonus)
  • Familiarity with controls or software development (embedded software preferred, aerospace is a bonus)
Bonus Qualifications
  • Familiarity with SAE ARP-4754A or any other System Engineering Requirement Based Development process
  • Familiarity with 14 CFR parts 23/25/91/135 and applicable guidance materials
  • Familiarity with test results data analysis
  • Familiarity with Matlab/Simulink/Cameo
  • Familiarity with AI tools
