What you'll do...

Position: Senior, Systems and Infrastructure Engineer

Job Location: 1375 Crossman Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94089

Duties: Automate repetitive tasks and releases for a more efficient workflow. Explore relevant products/solutions from an existing repertoire, that can address business and technical needs. Assess gaps, updates, and modifications between customer/business expectations and existing product/solutions. Classify the requirements into applicable types. Anticipate the solution risks and issues during requirements gathering phase, inform relevant stakeholders, and recommend corrective steps. Contribute to the creation of user stories for component, application, and/or complex. Perform routine maintenance tasks for infrastructure systems such as backups, patch management, and hot fixes. Escalate any issue that occurs in the backup media. Conduct regular database integrity checks to ensure minimal data loss. Create and configure minimalistic code for entire component/application and ensure the components are meeting business and technical requirements, non-functional requirements, low-maintainability, high-availability and high-scalability needs. Assist in the selection of appropriate languages, development standards, and tools for software coding and configuration. Build scripts for automation of repetitive and routine tasks in CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery), testing, or any other process. Implement telemetry features as required. Ensure security policy requirements are properly applied to components/application during code development/configuration. Analyze and prioritize issues under moderate supervision for projects of moderate complexity. Identify and elaborate possible and feasible solutions to the issues raised. Evaluate all available options to resolve the raised issues for projects. Right-size IT resources to meet current and future business requirements in a cost-effective within a domain/ pillar. Optimize IT resource utilization. Create a model of infrastructure performance to manage current resource needs. Manage demand for computing resources. Produce a capacity plan that covers current and forecasted needs. Assist in creation of simple, modular, extensible, and functional design for the product/solution in adherence to the requirements. Evaluate trade-offs while designing across multiple components in a system based on the business requirements. Convert HLD to create detailed design for specific modules or components of a product/system. Understand nuances of designing for disaster recovery. Support decommission of the on-prem hardware or convert it into a hybrid set-up or complete cloud setup as per business needs. Monitor the resiliency and reliability of the new cloud environment. Gauge the bandwidth needed to handle the internet connections for cloud access. Support in planning and executing data-center consolidations, relocations, and migrations. Update data from all sources as and when configuration changes are deployed. Conduct analysis for simple configuration changes. Ensure that any modification to code is checked into correct branch and code merges are done properly. Authenticate and authorize of code changes in the version control system and central repository. Oversee the process of code branching and ensure seamless code build. Ensure that all impacted files are included in release communication. Evaluate the application usage and hardware configuration on cloud platform, assign suitable configuration and connections to database, and other computing requirements for application. Evaluate suitable middleware to be used for integrating existing legacy applications with current applications as required including cloud systems. Program middleware or other tools to enable effective integration of applications within. Perform API-level integration. Oversee the end-to-end process of application integration to the target environment. Investigate issues or failures of application integration. Facilitate modifications to improve the success of integration between application programs.

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology Management, or related area and 1 year of experience in technology infrastructure engineering across areas related to compute, storage, network, mobility, or virtualization-related technologies; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology Management, or related area and 3 years of experience in technology infrastructure engineering across areas related to compute, storage, network, mobility, or virtualization-related technologies.

Skills required: Experience with application development using Java. Experience with data management using SQL programming. Experience with web Application development using HTML, CSS, JS. Experience implementing REST API services. Experience setting up and managing release pipelines using Jenkins. Experience designing UX experiences using design tools. Experience with backend development for an application using JDBC and Spring architectures. Experience developing Scripts using Shell Scripting for automation scenarios. Experience with source code management using repositories, including Git and Bitbucket. Experience with data analysis using Apache Solr, Splunk, and Kibana Logs. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $187,741/year to $202,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
