Full Job Description
The High Value Payment Systems Operations team provides business and technical expertise to ensure the operational excellence of Canada's clearing and settlement infrastructure, and interfaces with member institutions to develop, maintain, and improve business processes that support the operation of the national clearing and settlement systems. The team also plays a key role in planning the evolution and future state of high value payments in Canada. Reporting to the Manager, High Value Payment Systems Operations, the Senior Systems Analyst is responsible and accountable for bridging business and system management services and offering. Providing expertise, recommendations and support in the planning, development, implementation, integration, forecasting, and maintenance of the High Value payment systems. They lead consolidation of business requirements and work with the team, technology stakeholders, vendor, partners, and external stakeholders in the identification, evaluation, planning, and development of a series of complex implementations, and execution of quality assurance activities. They have a sound understanding of technology and work closely with vendors to ensure test requirements from the front and back-end are well executed. They define and document processes and procedures related to business requirements and quality assurance activities as part of an overall System Development Life Cycle. They address member requests for use of the Payments Canada testing environments. A day in the life Responsibilities of the Senior Systems Analyst role includes but are not limited to: Business Services and Operations - Lead the execution of business analysis functions of High Value Payment Systems, analyze the business needs of members and stakeholders, and propose solutions to identified problems and identifying opportunities for value added services. - Developing an understanding of Payments Canada's by-laws, rules and standards to ensure operational excellence. - Gather detailed requirements from users, members, and stakeholders. This includes interpretation data to actionable recommendations. - Obtain data from multiple sources, analyze information to develop reliable fact-based reports in support of various operational initiatives and ongoing activities. - Leading small teams to support the coordination and execution of operational projects and annual initiatives. Systems Solutions and Support - Maintain a sound understanding of the payment system technologies utilized for the High Value Payment Systems. - Provide system expertise for both business and technical resources. - Support both business operations and system solutions in the support and monitoring of the High Value Payment Systems. - Administration and configuration of the High Value Payment Systems. - Provide on-call support as needed to support operations and ensure timely and accurate follow-up and reporting of all participant and Payments Canada system incidents. - Provide technical expertise in the investigation of High Value Payment Systems events. Quality Assurance - Working closely with vendors and encouraging partnerships in the support and maintenance of critical infrastructure. - Coordination and facilitation of Quality Assurance activities (i.e. Member engagement, vendor testing, internal testing). - Contribute to the vendor managed Release Management process. What you need to be successful - University degree or college diploma in computer science or related studies. - Minimum of five (5) years' experience within a similar role. - Sound experience in DevOps and agile environments. - Experience in developing and fostering relationships, both internally and externally. - Experience in managing external IT vendors. - Experience in applying system management best practices. - Sound experience in producing concise and detailed documentation. - Experience in performing business analysis, collecting requirements, and developing solutions. - Strong knowledge of technologies such as Confluence, Jira, MQ Series, SWIFT network for financial transitions, Redhat, RSA Security Appliances, Active Directory, and Oracle DBs. - Strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle. - Occasional travel may be required. - Overtime and on-call support based on operational requirements will be required. - Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Reliability Status Clearance and can successfully complete enhanced background checks that may be carried out by Payments Canada. You will really stand out with - ITIL Certification is considered an asset. Salary range - Based on qualifications and experience: $88,500 to $147,500.
