About the Role

Kandor Management is looking for a Senior System Administrator to join our team and support Kendrix, our technology division. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on building resilient infrastructure and driving IT strategy across a multi-company environment while providing IT services. You'll take ownership of critical systems - from virtualization and disaster recovery to security and compliance - while working closely with stakeholders to keep our technology running smoothly and cost-effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Systems Administration:
  • Manage and support Azure and SharePoint environments including Entra, Azure VM's, SharePoint permissions, SharePoint Sites
  • Manage and support Microsoft M365 subscription users and applications including Outlook, Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Teams, Power Automate
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery: Design, build, and continuously improve backup and DR systems. Apply industry best practices and establish rigorous testing procedures for backups, failover, and failback.
  • Security: Implement and maintain best-practice security standards across all systems and infrastructure.
  • Vendor & Contractor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to build and maintain a healthy, reliable IT infrastructure.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Meet regularly with VPs, Directors, and Managers to advise on how to best leverage IT infrastructure while managing and optimizing costs.
  • Project Management: Own and drive various IT initiatives, including continuous systems improvement, IT asset integration for acquired companies, new office onboarding, and application suite deployments.
  • Compliance & Security: Contribute to the development of procedures and systems supporting progress toward ISO 27001 certification, and ensure compliance with security policies and data protection standards.
  • Asset & License Management: Maintain accurate IT control documentation and manage inventory of IT assets and software licenses including software/firmware update processes.
  • Training & Documentation: Deliver training and support documentation for end-users.
  • Employee Onboarding/Offboarding for IT Assets, systems and applications.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience designing and managing enterprise-scale IT infrastructure, including remote access, Azure, SharePoint and M365 environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Windows 10/11 and MacOS as well as SQL Server.
  • Experience with Cybersecurity compliance and deployment for best practice in various environments (Cloud, On-Premise server, Desktop and Cloud-hybrid environments) as well as EDR, EPP, SIEM and MDM systems and Intrusion Detection/Monitoring of cloud and on-premise solutions
  • Strong understanding of security best practices and IT compliance frameworks (ISO 27001 experience an asset).
  • Experience with SSO and MFA including application and Entra integration and management. Experience with SAML and OIDC are an additional asset.
  • Experience overseeing helpdesk operations, including SLA/KPI management, ticketing systems, and support process improvement.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical leadership.
  • Experience supporting multi-entity or multi-company IT environments, ideally including M&A integration or office onboarding.
  • Strong organizational skills with experience maintaining IT documentation and asset management systems.
  • Comfortable working on-site in Burnaby, BC
  • After-Hours Support: Provide off-hours support as needed to ensure uninterrupted service for the business and its customers.
