Full Job Description
Role:

Primary duties of the Senior Systems Administrator are to maintain the operational readiness of enterprise systems including core processing and implement standard enhancement change requests as needed. Responsible for supporting the network infrastructure as well as enterprise systems which includes but is not limited to monitoring, troubleshooting, researching, analyzing, programming, testing/validating, patching/upgrading, and overall lifecycle management. Responsible for supporting database systems which includes overseeing database server infrastructure, monitor performance, and ensure regular backup, recovery, and data integrity. Supports business units by analyzing technical requirements, evaluating fulfillment options, making recommendations in alignment with corporate standards as well as industry best practices and completing the technical implementation. Maintains a high level of responsiveness ensuring users and business units are supported in a timely fashion. Establishes and maintains technical subject matter expertise as dictated by the needs of the department and credit union. Provides mentorship both technically as well as professionally to junior team members and drives positive change within the organization.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

35% Maintains enterprise systems including but not limited to servers, network infrastructure, database server infrastructure, msSQL databases, Azure Databases, virtual environment, cloud environments, telecom, MDM, backup appliances, monitoring platform, and core processing.

25% Remediates technical issues submitted to the team and monitors the team ticket queue to ensure a timely response and adherence to established SLA's.

15% Fulfills approved enhancement requests in accordance with established SLA's and procedures.

10% Implements basic systems enhancements and integrations to increase overall functionality, efficiency, and reliability.

5% Maintains inventory of all enterprise systems to include vendor SLA's, lifecycle details, licensing allocation, technical dependencies, and any relative contact information.

4% Interfaces with vendors as needed to ensure appropriate service levels are maintained.

3% Documents support processes, technical designs, user guides, changes, and fix actions.

2% Provide hands-on learning, mentorship, and guidance to junior team members.

1% Performs other job-related duties as assigned in a secure and compliant manner.

Performance Measurements:

1. Ensures maximum uptime of enterprise systems by resolving complex production problems across multiple environments, platforms, and infrastructure.

2. Ensures databases and storage systems are maintained, actively monitored, and in accordance with backup recovery policies.

3. Capable of managing, deploying, and troubleshooting virtual and cloud environments.

4. Meets department standards for support whenever technical issues occur. Provides management updates regarding key production impacting issues in a timely manner.

5. Ensures core system technology resources are being used in a reliable and secure manner. Facilitates the timely execution of standard maintenance such as patches, updates, and upgrades.

6. Communicates impactful changes appropriately and ensures any modifications have been tested before they are put into production, working with training as needed to ensure users are prepared.

7. Interprets requirements into system design by defining and analyzing system problems, performance issues, setup options, and validation standards. Analyzes the overall efficiency of the credit union's core processing function and aligns technical needs with system capabilities.

8. Plans for necessary hardware or software upgrades to support system growth.

9. Communicates effectively with partners at all levels to understand supported functions and business needs. Translates complex technical concepts into common language for non-technicians and creates comprehensive but easy to understand validation plans.

10. Helps develop, document, communicate, and enforce enterprise technology policies.

11. Meets deadlines for completion of all assigned tasks and provides useful input with respect to systems operation.

12. Coordinates with internal partners and vendors as needed to remediate issues and complete enhancements. Maintains appropriate relationships with outside vendors and suppliers.

13. Provides operational support services on-site as well as remote during normal business hours and on-call as dictated by the needs of the department.

14. Continually improves skill set by researching new systems, technology, techniques, and best practices. Shares knowledge and experience with other team members.

15. Trains junior staff by providing invaluable practical experience for professional growth and development, building relevant skills and knowledge directly applicable to their role.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience Five years as a Systems Administrator, Database Administrator, and/or Network Administrator. Three years of experience with financial industry systems including servers, storage, routers, switches, firewalls, virtual technologies like Nutanix, Azure Cloud environments, Telecom, Wi-Fi, MDM, backup appliances, and monitoring tools. Knowledge of Credit Union operations and technology stack preferred. Completion of Episys System Administrator training program or equivalent system. Opcon knowledge (Automation tool) and one or more relevant system or network administration certifications preferred. SQL and 'low code' development expertise preferred. Proven experience may be acceptable in lieu of listed experience.

Education (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g. information technology certifications in lieu of a degree). Proven experience may be acceptable in lieu of listed education.

Interpersonal Skills A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Leading, motivating, influencing, and training others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and sell ideas or services to others. The ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional team members is a must.

Physical Requirements This role requires sitting at a computer viewing a digital display and typing for most of the day.

Work Environment The position is based in-office in our Pensacola, FL market, operates primarily in an office setting, and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones. This position requires consistent presence in the office to effectively collaborate with team members and fulfill job responsibilities.

The normal expected work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. Occasional after-hours work or travel may be required to meet project deadlines or attend conferences, seminars, or client meetings. Must adhere to safety rules and regulations.
