Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced
System Engineer / Network Architect with deep expertise in
Telecom Layer 1 (Physical Layer) technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in telecom network architecture, transport networks, fiber infrastructure, synchronization, and physical layer design.
Previous AT&T experience is highly preferred.Key Responsibilities- Design and architect Layer 1 telecom network solutions for carrier-grade environments.
- Lead network planning, capacity analysis, and infrastructure optimization initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership for fiber, optical transport, DWDM, SONET/SDH, and physical network deployments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on network modernization and transformation projects.
- Review and validate network designs, engineering standards, and implementation strategies.
- Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of complex network issues.
- Act as a subject matter expert for telecom physical layer architecture and integration.
Required Skills- 10+ years of telecom network engineering and architecture experience.
- Strong understanding of OSI Layer 1 (Physical Layer) technologies.
- Experience with:
- Fiber Optics
- DWDM/CWDM
- Optical Transport Networks (OTN)
- SONET/SDH
- Ethernet Transport
- Synchronization & Timing Networks
- Network Infrastructure Planning
- Experience designing carrier-grade telecom networks.
- Strong system engineering and technical documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications- Previous AT&T experience.
- Background working with Tier-1 telecom carriers.
- Experience in network transformation, 5G transport, and fiber network modernization projects.
- Telecom certifications and architecture leadership experience.
