Job Summary:The Senior System Electronics Integration Engineer reports into the System Design organization. This role is responsible for the integration, validation and troubleshooting of complex electronic subsystems as part of the Electronic Distribution Network (EDN). This role will ensure multiple hardware subsystems operate together reliably and meet overall system performance requirements.
Responsibilities:- Define and manage system interfaces, including power distribution, timing distribution, cabling, connectivity and integration of electronic subsystems and components.
- EDN rack/vacuum/cryo layout and connectivity.
- Develop and execute system-level integration and validation test plans to ensure hardware, firmware, and software works together effectively as a cohesive system architecture.
- Coordinate cross-functionally to meet requirements and schedule with System Design leads, Electronics Design, Packaging Design, Validation, System Commissioning, System Architecture, and Quantum Operating Software teams.
- Ensure compliance with system requirements, safety standards, and design specifications.
- Create and maintain documentation such as interface control documents, schematics, design specifications and contribute to system BOMs.
Experience/Qualifications:Required:
- BS, M.S. or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in system electronics integration.
- Experience with clock distribution, power distribution, grounding schemes, FW validation and SW control.
- Experience with software controls in Python.
- Strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Strong critical thinking skills, demonstrated problem-solving and debugging skills in complex systems.
- Ability to work independently with limited direction.
Preferred:
- Experience with hardware development of active photonic integrated circuits (PICs), optical transceivers, RF products.
- Experience with high-speed signal integrity or power electronics.
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC considerations and mitigation techniques.
- Experience with vacuum and cryo systems.
The ranges below reflect the target ranges for a new hire base salary. One is for the Bay Area (within 50 miles of HQ, Palo Alto), the second one (if applicable) is for elsewhere in the US (beyond 50 miles of HQ, Palo Alto). If there is only one range, it is for the specific location of where the position will be located. Actual compensation may vary outside of these ranges and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to a candidate's qualifications including relevant education and training, competencies, experience, geographic location, and business needs. Base pay is only one part of the total compensation package. Full time roles are eligible for equity and benefits. Base pay is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
