Leidos Low Band Surveillance program (LBS) is seeking a System Architect. This position will lead the Mobile LBS system proposal, design, and production phases of the program. This is a large, multi-phase radar program with concurrent development, test, production, and sustainment activities. You will serve as the technical authority across multiple engineering disciplines, ensuring design integrity, technical performance, and disciplined engineering execution. This role requires a systems-minded leader with the ability to direct technical work based on cost, schedule, risk, and requirements.

Primary Responsibilities
Lead technical team to design, manufacture, and deliver a radar system that conforms to requirements.
Be comfortable navigating software, signal processing, mechanical, and electrical engineering issues, while supported by subject matter experts on your team.
Provide technical oversight and management of technical baseline
Balance technical solution while adhering to cost and schedule constraints
Serve as the program’s technical lead for engineering execution, system performance, and compliance with requirements across multiple product lifecycle stages.
Communicate technical progress, challenges, and opportunities to senior leadership and government stakeholders.
Provide technical direction and oversight to subsystem leads, integrated product team leads, and specialty engineering disciplines to ensure design maturity, integration, and risk mitigation.
Mentor and develop technical staff, fostering a culture of innovation, rigor, and collaboration across the engineering organization.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
12+ years of applicable experience or 10+ years with MS degree.
Experience leading a team of engineers to develop solutions that meet technical, cost, and schedule requirements
Excellent technical judgment and ability to communicate complex issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience with formal design review processes (PDR/CDR), configuration management, and risk management practices.
Strong desire to lead, guide, and mentor
Active secret security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain secret security clearance
You must be a resident of the Huntsville, AL area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with radar, EO/IR, or other advanced sensing technologies.
Design and/or Integration experience in the following areas:
Mobile equipment
Tactical trailers
Radar Systems
Mechanism Design
Design for Manufacturability

Pay Range:Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00
