Senior Sustainability Project Manager

Job Description Summary

Provides professional project management experience to designated sustainability certification projects and assignments, including LEED, BREEAM, Fitwel, WELL, ENERGY STAR, IREM, BOMA, and other sustainability-oriented engagements. Interacts with client representatives onsite, coordinates with property and facility management teams, and supports the execution of client-contracted sustainability services. Works in collaboration with account managers, building teams, clients, owners, vendors, and internal Cushman & Wakefield stakeholders to deliver high-quality sustainability outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple sustainability certification projects, including LEED, BREEAM, WELL, Fitwel, IREM, and BOMA, from kickoff through final certification.
  • Lead day-to-day project delivery, including project scope, schedule, budget, client expectations, deliverables, reporting, and coordination with project teams, property managers, facility teams, clients, and owners.
  • Conduct site visits, building assessments, indoor air quality assessments, gap analyses, and quality reviews of project deliverables and certification documentation.
  • Identify project delivery risks, communicate potential issues to leadership and clients, and recommend solutions or additional client support opportunities.
  • Develop clear, action-oriented client recommendations by translating research, project data, building documentation, and certification analysis.
  • Support business development goals by identifying new opportunities, contributing to proposals and pitches, building client relationships, and helping achieve revenue targets.
  • Manage, mentor, train, and support the professional development of assigned team members and junior team members.
  • Support process improvements, playbooks, tools, and resources that improve consistency, efficiency, and quality across sustainability certification project delivery.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, property management teams, clients, ownership groups, certification bodies, industry representatives, and vendors.
  • Educate and engage tenants, property teams, senior leadership, and clients on sustainability strategies, certification requirements, and value-added services.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Sustainable Building, Real Estate, Architecture, Engineering, Environmental Studies, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of sustainability and green building certification project management experience.
  • Ability to procure and maintain the LEED AP Operations and Maintenance designation; additional credentials such as Fitwel Ambassador, BREEAM Assessor, WELL AP, BOMA, IREM CSP, or TRUE Advisor preferred.
  • Experience managing sustainability certification projects such as LEED, BREEAM In-Use, Fitwel, WELL, BOMA, IREM, or related programs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools, LEED Arc, LEED Online, ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, and related certification platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail, professionalism, and client service.
  • Proven ability to manage, mentor, and support team members.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including experience developing client-facing recommendations, reports, presentations, and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time for site visits, client meetings, and project-related activities; must live within reasonable access to a major airport.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidates experience and qualifications.


The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $ 97,750.00 - $115,000.00
