Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Geomatics/Surveying, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years of roadway construction experience in Canada, but those with less experience may apply.
• Availability for travel across Western Canada for project sites.
• Proficiency with GPS, scanning, bathymetric, and total station equipment; Trimble Survey Controllers valued.
• Experience with survey software such as Trimble Business Center or Civil 3D is beneficial.
• Current Advanced UAV license is preferred.
• Familiarity with Alberta Transportation survey standards is an advantage.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver license with a clean driver abstract.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate, cost-effective, and timely completion of construction surveys.
• Direct and supervise survey assistants, providing technical guidance and safety leadership.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, contractors, and clients.
• Process and review field survey data for accuracy and organization.
• Interpret roadway construction drawings and extract design data for layouts.
• Understand measurement and payment methods for construction items and prepare digital models.
• Adhere to internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
