Full Job Description
We are actively seeking an experienced Senior Surface Land Coordinator to join our Surface Land and Stakeholder Relations team. Reporting to the Team Lead, Surface Land - Thermal, this role provides timely and accurate technical support to advance surface land projects and manages land activities associated with SAGD development in Saskatchewan.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate Surface Land projects, including package preparation for drilling and construction activities, AFE management, accruals, survey kickoffs, project initiation, regulatory approvals, auditing, and field construction activities, while managing surface land brokers, environmental consultants and surveying companies to ensure project priorities are executed in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with several asset teams to initiate capital projects.
  • Coordinate land access for abandonment and reclamation projects.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to management on project performance.
  • Coordinate surface land A&D project requirements as directed by the Senior Advisor.
  • Prepare and review monthly surface expiry, obligation, and rental reports.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government legislation and local HSE standards.
  • Establish and maintain surface land files and accurately enter project data into LandWorks and other company databases.
  • Respond to queries regarding Rental Review Letters and input updates in Landworks.
  • Liaise with landowners to address calls and inquiries and maintain positive working relationships.


Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Petroleum Land Administration or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Petroleum Land Administration Certificate, Land Agent License, and/or a professional designation from a recognized industry institution are considered assets.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of Crown and Freehold surface land regulations in Saskatchewan and Alberta.
  • Strong understanding of environmental and regulatory approval requirements associated with capital projects.
  • Proficiency with LandWorks, Aucerna Execute, Microsoft Office, and GIS/mapping applications.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with landowners, regulators, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

  • Based out of our downtown Calgary head office.
