This position is in our Food Enterprise where we are committed to serving food manufacturers, food service customers, and retailers with a complete range of innovative ingredients and branded products. Our portfolio includes poultry, beef, egg, alternative protein, salt, oils, starches, sweeteners, cocoa and chocolate.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Supply and Inventory Planner plays a critical role within our Manufacturing and Supply Chain organization, serving as a key connector between demand, capacity, and execution. This role is responsible for converting the long-term demand plan into a long-term monthly supply plan designed to support high service levels and customer demand, while balancing cost, capacity, and operational constraints.

Beyond technical planning responsibilities, this role requires strong leadership and influence to guide cross-functional teams through the complexity required to translate plans into actionable solutions. The Senior Supply and Inventory Planner leads through ambiguity, disruption, and change, and is relied upon as a primary problem solver during supply chain or operational disruptions. Success in this role requires the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments while building trusted relationships across plant leadership, commercial teams, and supply chain partners.

The Senior Supply and Inventory Planner will own the long-term supply and inventory plan for multiple product lines within the CSST NA business. This includes the development and on-going management of a monthly supply and inventory plan that aligns with the business' C-IBP process. In this role, you will monitor key integrated business planning performance indicators, manage stock health, and coordinate across functions to identify and address risks and opportunities within the supply and inventory plans.

Key Accountabilities

  • Serve as core contributor and leader within the Cargill Integrated Business Planning (CIBP) process, providing insight into 0-36 month supply plan versus capacity constraints, identifying risks and opportunities, and developing actionable recommendations
  • Lead monthly Supply Review for assigned product lines to reach consensus on the forward supply and inventory plan, risk and opportunities, and actions needed
  • Engage closely with plant, commercial, and supply chain teams at both a tactical and strategic level, translating plans into clear, actionable direction and ensuring understanding and alignment
  • Create long term supply and inventory plan for assigned product lines as input for the integrated business planning cycle
  • Generate and execute safety stock and inventory plans/targets for the assigned product lines, using the approved supply plan inputs
  • Develop gap coverage plans during inventory shortages
  • Maintain data relevant to network distribution planning activities including capacity, constraints, costs, etc.
  • Lead identifying and evaluating what-if scenario plans
  • Manage stock health management for assigned product lines with consistent monitoring of aging and non-performing inventory, holding cross-functional partners accountable to identified actions
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned
