What we needAs Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) you will be responsible for making sure that parts, materials, or products provided by suppliers meet quality standards. You will collaborate with suppliers, external manufacturing partners, quality, engineering to prevent defects, improve processes and reduce risk in the supply chain. The ideal candidate will leverage a deep understanding of product applications and environments to strategically apply technical knowledge and methodologies to reduce defects and drive quality improvement at suppliers.
What we do The Quality team ensures Symbotic products successfully transition from development into production by partnering cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Test teams. Encompassing product, site, manufacturing, and supplier Quality, the team focuses on quality planning, defect prevention, and process validation from prototype through production, using product and field data to drive continuous improvement. By embedding strong quality practices early in the product lifecycle, the team helps ensure reliable product launches and consistent system performance.
What you'll do - Act as the primary day-to-day quality contact for assigned contract manufacturers (CMs) or suppliers.
- Execute and manage quality activities to ensure manufacturing compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements (e.g. supplier audits). Provide periodic performance updates through dashboards and KPIs.
- Lead supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) and verify effective root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Partner closely with supply chain, engineering, and external manufacturing teams to evaluate and qualify new suppliers.
- Drive continuous improvement activities using Lean, Six Sigma, and problem-solving methodologies.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you'll need - Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline is preferred. Related work experience is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of supplier quality engineering experience within a regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
- Proficient in quality management concepts, tools, and methods (FMEA, DOE, MSA, GRR, 8D, etc.).
- Experience with Control Plans, FMEAs, and PPAP or equivalent part approval processes.
- Knowledge of engineering fundamentals and the ability to identify critical control points.
- Familiarity with statistical process control software such as SAA, Minitab, and JMP, along with advanced Excel skills for data organization and analysis.
- Strong communicative, quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to translate findings into actionable business decisions.
- CQE and Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred (must demonstrate deep core knowledge).
- Certified or previously certified ISO 9001 or AS9100 auditor preferred.
Our Environment - Up to 25% of travel, both domestic and international, may be required. Employees must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to supplier locations.
- The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.

The base range for this position in the posted location is $101,000.00 - $138,600.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
