About the role:As a
Senior Supplier Performance Engineer for APX WBS11 Turbine Island, you will support the successful procurement, manufacture, delivery, and turnover of Turbine Island major equipment across APX projects. You will lead supplier manufacturing-readiness and capability assessments, provide technical and quality oversight, and guide sustained supplier performance for complex power-generation equipment.
You will report to the APX Turbine Island Supplier Quality & Performance Manager and be based in Cranberry Township, PA with a hybrid work arrangement. No relocation assistance is offered. You will be required to travel domestic and international to supplier facilities, approximately 30-50%, with typical trips lasting two to five days.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead supplier manufacturing-readiness, capability, capacity, process-control, and risk assessments for Turbine Island major equipment; identify gaps against technical and quality requirements and implement closure plans.
- Develop Supplier Oversight Plans covering critical document submittals, manufacturing activities, surveillance points, inspections, tests, and documented results.
- Provide on-site and remote supplier oversight to verify compliance with applicable specifications, codes, standards, approved processes, manufacturing plans, and quality requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance through scorecards, dashboards, on-time delivery, quality issues, deviation notices, and other leading indicators; identify adverse trends and implement mitigation, recovery, or Supplier Improvement Plans.
- Manage supplier issues and corrective actions. These actions include nonconformances, dispositions, root-cause analysis, SCARs, preventive and corrective actions. Additionally, manage the escalation of significant technical, quality, schedule, or security-of-supply risks.
- Review complex engineering drawings, manufacturing and quality plans, supplier process documents, and technical submittals.
- Apply manufacturing expertise through oversight of supplier processes. These processes include machining, welding, forming, heat treatment, mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly, nondestructive examination, instrumentation integration, inspection, and testing, as applicable to assigned equipment.
- Coordinate cross-functional and international activities among Supply Chain, Design Engineering, Supplier Quality, project leadership, customers, and suppliers to enable decisions and prompt issue resolution.
- Provide leadership through technical direction, stakeholder alignment, mentoring, and a strong commitment to personal, industrial, and nuclear safety.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience in manufacturing, fabrication, supplier performance, or supplier quality experience
- Experience in heavy fabrication and the manufacture of large mechanical or electro-mechanical components in nuclear, power generation, aerospace, or another highly regulated industries
- Project management
- Working knowledge with manufacturing and quality plans and complex engineering drawings and specifications
- Nondestructive testing/examination awareness (PT/UT/MT/RT) experience preferred
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $85,200 to $106,500 per year.
