Role DescriptionForm Energy is hiring a Senior Supplier Industrialization Engineer, Electromechanical to serve as the definitive technical and quality authority for our contract-manufactured custom wire harness and cable assemblies used across power conversion and electromechanical systems, box builds, and skid-level integrations such as power conversion equipment. Reporting to the Manager, Supplier Industrialization Engineering (Electromechanical), you will own the end-to-end industrialization lifecycle for custom harnesses - from early DFM/DFA and supplier selection through mass production and "cradle-to-grave" quality accountability. As a Senior level engineer, you will architect the PPAP and APQP frameworks that ensure our harness suppliers deliver at the reliability and scale Form Energy needs. Relocation assistance is available.
What you'll do:- Own the Quality Lifecycle: Lead PPAP and APQP execution for custom wire harness and cable assemblies, from wire and terminal selection through crimp, cable, and connector qualification.
- Architect Manufacturing Standards: Define the methods, procedures, and evaluation criteria (e.g., crimp pull test, continuity/hipot test, cable routing) for new harness programs at contract manufacturer sites.
- Lead Complex Resolutions: Serve as the primary technical leader for harness-related production and field issues, coordinating with Design, Reliability, and Test to implement systemic corrective actions (CAPA).
- Drive Supplier Accountability: Hold domestic and international harness suppliers accountable to yield, OEE, and quality targets, and mentor supplier engineering resources.
- Guide Early-Stage Design: Embed DFM/DFA principles into harness and cable assembly designs (wire gauge, connector selection, routing) to enable a seamless transition from prototype to mass production.
- Global Quality Leadership: Conduct technical audits and source inspections of harness suppliers, traveling (20%) to verify process stability and compliance at the factory floor.
What you'll bring:- Typically 5+ years of experience in new product development and manufacturing of custom wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and interconnect systems.
- Deep expertise in harness manufacturing processes: crimping, wire prep, molding/overmolding, cable assembly, and connector systems.
- Demonstrated experience implementing PPAP/APQP and managing supplier quality performance through data-driven yield and defect analysis.
- BS in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Familiarity with harness industry standards (e.g., IPC/WHMA-A-620) and experience with high-power or high-voltage harness design and test.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
