Job Description:

To ensure all production activities support L3Harris business and are carried out in accordance with company policy and accepted standards of practice. We are looking for a self-motivated individual to oversee our production activities on first shift. The ideal candidate would be responsible for coaching, resolving issues and helping facilitate the daily operations of the assigned manufacturing production lines. Essential Functions:

  • Managing direct reports to ensure schedules for the product line(s) are achieved. This includes ensuring that the product line(s) are properly staffed in accordance with program requirements
  • Understand and effectively communicate production goals.
  • Monitor production yields, manage daily/weekly failure trends throughout all processes
  • Maintain a shop floor presence to support positive workplace behaviors, conduct and factory culture
  • Champion safety and 5S+1 initiatives to drive an improved culture for product line(s)
  • Effectively collaborates and communicates across functional departments
  • Eliminate waste, utilizing lean manufacturing principles, resulting in improved efficiency, lead time reductions, and process improvements
  • Lead product line Gemba process and strive for 100% engagement of the staff
  • Monitor failure trends and quality defects and drive resolutions that achieve a "zero" defect culture with no escapes to our customers
  • Analyze product line operations (daily, weekly, monthly) and initiate timely corrective actions to ensure efficient production flow and achievement of product line goals
  • Enforce performance against key metrics including on time delivery, department efficiency, DPPM, and RTY
  • Continually review and enforce the use and maintenance of work instructions, routers, logs, scrap tickets, training matrix, calibration requirements and company procedures.
  • Keep detailed records of personnel and provide periodic feedback for subordinates, including recognition for strengths and opportunities for improvements. Write and present annual performance reviews.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 4 years prior relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects, tactics, and employees within a team.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft products (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.
  • Understanding of and experience working with root cause problem solving methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to isolate a problem and work toward resolution
  • Lean Six Sigma certifications
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and measurement systems
  • Understanding and utilization of continuous improvement practices
  • Experience implementing change
  • Strong interpersonal Skills
  • Strong business acumen - understands big picture
  • Strong listening, written and oral communication skills


In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $67,000 - $124,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
