Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical Operations & Maintenance
- Act as the appointed A0/ A4 Chargeman for the facility, ensuring compliance with ST requirements.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of:
- LV/HV electrical systems
- Transformers, switchgear, and distribution boards
- Generators, UPS, and power backup systems
- Ensure all electrical systems are operating efficiently with minimal downtime.
2. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Develop and manage planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules.
- Lead troubleshooting and rectification of electrical faults and breakdowns.
- Ensure timely closure of corrective maintenance activities.
3. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure full compliance with:
- Electricity Supply Act & Regulations
- Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) requirements
- Company HSE policies
- Enforce safe working practices and manage Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems.
- Support audits, inspections, and statutory certifications.
4. Team & Contractor Management
- Supervise facility technicians and external service providers.
- Monitor contractor work performance, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety requirements.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and training to team members.
5. Stakeholder & Authority Liaison
- Liaise with external authorities such as:
- Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST)
- Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB)
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Operations, Procurement, HSE) to support facility needs.
6. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records including:
- Maintenance logs
- Electrical drawings and schematics
- Compliance certificates and reports
- Prepare technical reports and updates for management review.
7. Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement energy efficiency initiatives.
- Propose improvements for system reliability and cost optimization.
