Senior Superintendent - GM Plant Location: Fort Wayne, IN Company: Boldt Company Anticipated Salary Range: $127,000 - $170,000 Lead construction operations at the GM Fort Wayne Plant and play a key role in delivering complex industrial and manufacturing projects. As the day-to-day field leader, you'll oversee safety, quality, schedule, subcontractors, and site operations while serving as the primary point of contact for plant leadership and project stakeholders. This role reports daily to the GM Fort Wayne facility and is ideal for an experienced construction professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, builds high-performing teams, and drives successful project execution from the field. The anticipated salary range for this position is $127,000 - $170,000 annually. This information reflects the anticipated base salary for this position based on current market data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experiences, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law. What You Bring - Four-year bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field. An equivalent combination of a high school degree with training and/or experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. - Twelve years industry experience and eight years supervisory experience in construction technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures required. - Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control and ability to control and supervise large groups essential. - Effectiveness in developing innovative construction methods and techniques for the project. Willingness to openly share experience and ideas for project improvement. - Must have basic understanding of craft jurisdiction and working under collective bargaining agreements. - Awareness of the general construction, structural steel installation, crane setup, crane capacity, masonry, millwright work, heavy rigging, and critical lift plans. - Understanding of a wide variety of building systems including structural steel, metal deck, cast in place concrete systems and shoring, wood framing, chilled water systems, steam generation and distribution, emergency power and electrical systems, high and medium voltage, etc. - Ability to mentor and train project team in all construction issues, efficiently lead large teams on complex projects and show leadership and be calm under pressure. - OSHA 30 certification is preferred. - A valid driver's license may be required. Individuals in this role may be subject to an annual Motor Vehicle Records check. The outcome of any MVR checks conducted may negatively impact the persons' ability to participate in any vehicle program provided by the company, including but not limited to the ability to drive a personal vehicle on behalf of The Boldt Company or rent a vehicle through for business travel purposes. Nice to Have - Serve as the main point of contact with owners, architects, and engineers - Plan and oversee field work, including staffing, materials, equipment, and schedules - Lead and develop teams to deliver work safely, on schedule, and to quality standards - Manage site operations, schedules, reporting, and communication across project teams - Resolve issues, maintain compliance (safety, permits, budget), and drive project performance Physical requirements and working conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to position objects and operate tools or controls. Employee occasionally uses computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to position self to maneuver in confined or awkward spaces. The employee regularly is required to remain in a stationary position and move to access people or machinery or workspaces. Employee is occasionally required to ascend and/or descend a ladder or stairs to reach work areas. The employee must regularly move up to 20 pounds and occasionally move up to 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to travel (as vehicle driver and as passenger on various modes of transportation) and frequently performs work on-site at construction work sites. Specific abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employee views computer monitor regularly. The employee is required to be able to optimally communicate while on the job site and throughout the completion of duties. The working conditions of this position requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to maintain safety and prevent exposure to harmful materials. The environment for which this position functions may be exposed to prolonged loud noises and may contain scents and fragrances. May be requested to work overtime and weekends.
