Job SummaryWe are currently seeking a
Sr. Subcontracts Representative. This position is a hybrid opportunity located in
Columbus, OH.In this role, the selected individual will issue subcontracts for standard and non-standard goods, services, and materials of high dollar value and moderate risk, in accordance with corporate policies and procedures and within applicable government laws and regulations.
The Sr. Subcontracts Representative will independently handle moderate to complex purchase orders, subcontract agreements, and related documentation, while developing independent business solutions in close collaboration with senior subcontract and contracting staff.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Sr. Subcontracts Representative, the selected individual will manage the full subcontract lifecycle across a range of programs and vendor relationships. Responsibilities may include:
- Drafting, negotiating, and administering contractual agreements for assigned programs, including initiating negotiations with vendors on agreement terms and pricing and proposing solutions to problems encountered during negotiations
- Preparing solicitations and ensuring completeness and responsiveness to vendor and internal client needs, confirming alignment with corporate policy and business, financial, contractual, and risk perspectives
- Reviewing Battelle's client contracts or RFPs to ensure all applicable flow-down terms and conditions are tailored appropriately and included in vendor solicitation documents
- Identifying the appropriate contract vehicle type to achieve intended results and mitigate risk, including reviewing Statements of Work (SOW), schedules, and deliverables
- Analyzing subcontract requirements, special provisions, and terms and conditions to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Battelle policies
- Identifying compliance problems and providing recommended solutions for approval by high-level staff or management
- Maintaining subcontract files in an audit-ready condition, consistent with standard practices, Battelle operating procedures, and legal requirements for maintaining approved purchasing system status
- Advising senior subcontract staff and other technical, support, or management staff on market, technical, and administrative trends and issues within the assigned area
- Providing direction and guidance to less experienced subcontract staff as requested by the Director of Subcontracts
Key Qualifications- Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field
- Demonstrated ability to develop innovative solutions to complex purchasing initiatives in a fast-moving and demanding environment
- Proven ability to function as a fair and effective negotiator who manages and develops supplier relationships to meet customer requirements

Compensation DataBattelle is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is $66,500 - $94,800 per year, in addition to our comprehensive benefits package. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications. Salary ranges may vary based on geographic location and market conditions.
