GFT is currently seeking a creative, highly talented SeniorStructural Project Manager for immediate employment in our Mechanicsburg, PA, Valley Forge, PA, Baltimore, MD, Fairfax, VA, Washington, DC or our Downtown Philadelphiaoffice. Join our Journey!

What you27ll be challenged to do:

The successful candidate will have demonstrated professional experience in structural engineering and project management, with the leadership, technical expertise, and mentorship skills needed to support a broad portfolio of structural projects. Project types may include building design, transit and rail station improvements, transportation-agency infrastructure projects, water and wastewater facilities, industrial structures, dams, existing structure evaluations, rehabilitation projects, and miscellaneous structural design assignments.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Lead and manage structural design efforts across a variety of projects, including buildings, train stations, transit and rail facilities, transportation infrastructure, water and wastewater structures, industrial structures, dam-related structures, and other facility-related structural systems.
  • Serve as overall project manager for multidisciplinary projects, including coordinating scope, schedule, budget, staffing, deliverables, client communication, and internal discipline coordination.
  • Serve as structural discipline lead on larger multidisciplinary projects where another project manager is responsible for overall project delivery.
  • Manage structural engineering tasks for projects involving new design, rehabilitation, repair, retrofit, expansion, and evaluation of existing structures.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers by providing technical guidance, training, coordination support, and quality control reviews.
  • Prepare and review construction documents, including plans, details, and technical specifications.
  • Conduct reviews of contractor submittals such as shop drawings, RFIs, and substitution requests.
  • Perform structural observations on existing and new structures.
  • Develop clear, concise, and well-organized technical reports and design documentation.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of building codes, structural design standards, and construction practices.
  • Apply advanced knowledge in structural systems including masonry, steel and concrete; familiarity with wood design is considered a plus.
  • Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities, developing client relationships, and contributing to proposal preparation and project pursuit efforts.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
  • Demonstrate strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain a commitment to project schedules, budgets, and client satisfaction.
  • Proactively identify and solve technical and project management challenges.

What you will bring to our firm:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering is required.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience working as a structural design engineer and project manager.
  • Familiarity with RISA, ETABS, SAP2000,RAM Structural System, RAM Concept, STAAD, Mathcad, TEDDS and other structural engineering analysis and design related software.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and REVIT.

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $125,000 - $175,000. Salary is dependent upon experience level.
