Lycopodium Americas is currently recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our growing team in Mississauga, ON.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer - Civil/Structural the Senior Structural Engineer will provide technical expertise and coordinate expertise from external sources to effectively complete project or study requirements.

The tasks you'll perform
  • To coordinate and supervise the structural engineering and drafting project team.
  • To provide structural designs which meet the process, project and client's requirements.
  • To prepare concrete and structural steel designs which comply with study or project specific codes and standards.
  • To undertake structural designs within agreed date and manhour budgets.
  • To enable effective and timely completion of structural designs and drawings through provision of design input.

The expertise you'll bring
  • Degree in Structural Engineering (or equivalent) from a recognised institution.
  • 8+ years' post-graduate experience, preferably in heavy industrial, mining, or process plant environments.
  • Strong technical expertise in structural design, including concrete and steel structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage design/drafting teams to meet budget, manhour, and milestone commitments.
  • Proven capability to work independently, delivering accurate, professional outcomes to agreed deadlines.
  • Effective client interface skills, managing design and drafting issues collaboratively and professionally.
  • Proficiency with engineering and analysis software, including FEA and dynamic analysis tools, and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with a strong team-oriented approach.

The expected salary range for this role is $110,000 to $140,000. This range is based on the role's job family and level and reflects a good faith estimate for the role at the time of posting. Your final offer will depend on factors such as market conditions, internal equity and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
