Job DescriptionSedgman Canada Ltd is currently looking for a
Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in Vancouver, B.C. He/she will be responsible for leading and providing technical support on structural engineering projects; this includes conducting structural design, investigation, managing project budgets and schedules, as well as preparing technical reports. The ideal incumbent will be a mentor and coach to a young and enthusiastic team.
What does this role involve? Main Responsibilities: - Lead project development of structural and concrete designs ensuring compliance with relevant codes, industry standards.
- Lead concept studies, including estimating quantities and preliminary designs
- Perform detailed concrete and steel design, including interaction with Drafters to produce models and documentation in line with QA Compliance
- Assist with construction enquiries, including safe lifting and erection
- Interface with other Engineering disciplines, including Electrical, Process and Mechanical
- Focus on technical innovation and continuous improvement
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
What are we looking for in our future team member? Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
- P.Eng. registration with EGBC or eligible to obtain
- 15+ years of structural engineering experience, with at least 5 in years in a project lead or senior role
- Strong understanding of steel and concrete design for heavy industrial structures.
- Demonstrated sound knowledge and experience in design/consultancy/operational environments
- Previous mining or metals industry experience is highly desired
- Ability to safely and effectively self-manage time, priorities and activities
- Well-developed communication and negotiation skills
- Experience with Canadian building code across the provinces is desirable
- Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship

Salary Range : $160K - $180KThe salary offered to the successful person for this position will consider education, experience, relevant skills and capability, geographic location and market conditions at the time of hire.
