Full Job Description

About this role:

The Senior Consultant will support the Strategy team and WIM business leaders in analyzing business innovation, growth opportunities, and strategic priorities across the wealth and investment management ecosystem and will produce the research, analysis, and materials behind the strategic plans that advance business transformation and position WIM for sustainable long-term growth in an evolving competitive and regulatory environment.

The Senior Consultant will lead or participate in complex initiatives, exercise independent judgment on medium-risk deliverables, and be expected to reach a defensible point of view on an unfamiliar topic quickly. They will support the Strategy professionals who work directly with members of the WIM Operating Committee and their teams.

The successful candidate brings analytical rigor, logical problem solving, and structured, concise communication, together with genuine curiosity about the wealth management and investment industry — client segments, advisor models, platform capabilities, investment products, and the competitive landscape. Critical success factors include working effectively in a matrixed organization, bringing structure to ambiguous questions, and a sense of urgency and personal accountability for results.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the development of strategic plans and analyses that position WIM for long-term growth and support the WIM annual strategic plan cycle and strategy presentations for the Board of Directors and Investor Day.

  • Support the long-term strategic vision and growth plan for assigned WIM businesses, encompassing advisory, brokerage, digital and self-directed wealth, deposits, lending, and trust.

  • Support the digital and self-directed wealth strategy with client segmentation, self-directed-to-advised funnel, pricing, and digital engagement analysis.

  • Support the workplace wealth strategy across stock plan, equity compensation, and retirement offerings, including partner screening, deal economics, and diligence support for partnership agreements.

  • Analyze growth opportunities in deposits, securities-based and mortgage lending, and trust and fiduciary relationships, including penetration, balances, cash and sweep economics, and client primacy drivers.

  • Track and synthesize developments in emerging areas including digital assets, and translate regulatory, competitor, and client-demand signals into implications for WIM.

  • Support identification of AI-enabled organizational efficiency opportunities across WIM through process, workflow, and time-allocation analysis.

  • Conduct competitive and market research on evolving client expectations, advisor needs, regulatory developments, and technology innovations, benchmarking across wealth managers, RIAs, asset managers, digital wealth platforms, private banks, and fintech entrants.

  • Build the models and executive-quality materials behind recommendations to executive management.

  • Review and analyze business, operational, or technical assignments or challenges that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives, and exercise independent judgment to guide medium risk deliverables.

  • Use AI agents and tooling as the primary method for research, modeling, competitive monitoring, and presentation development.

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals, and communicate findings clearly to Strategy and business stakeholders.

  • Lead projects or serve as a mentor to more junior colleagues and rotational analysts.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Strategy and Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, product strategy, investment banking, or a wealth management product, field, or finance role.

  • The foundations of the management consultant’s toolkit: analytical rigor, logical problem solving, and structured, concise communication.

  • An innovation mindset with the ability to leverage emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to accelerate business performance, evidenced by how the candidate has built AI into their own working method.

  • Exposure to any of digital and self-directed wealth; partnerships or corporate development; workplace wealth including stock plan and retirement; deposit, lending, or trust growth within a wealth channel; digital assets; process improvement.

  • Strong quantitative and modeling skills, including comfort working with large and imperfect data sets.

  • Ability to produce clear, concise, well-structured materials for senior audiences with limited direction.

  • Experience contributing to a strategic planning cycle, or to Board or investor materials.
