Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Staff Product Development Engineer to lead product development and customer technical engagement for Sandisk's NAND wafer and component product line.

Our team focuses on productizing Sandisk NAND technology into customer storage solutions across data center and edge applications. This role combines deep NAND technical expertise, customer engagement, and cross-functional leadership. The successful candidate will work closely with global customers and internal engineering teams to develop state-of-the-art NAND products, align product capabilities with system requirements, and enable successful customer qualification and product deployment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the technical lead for NAND wafer and component products, driving product excellence and influencing product roadmaps, features, and technical specifications.
  • Act as the primary engineering point of contact for customer technical engagements.
  • Translate customer system requirements into NAND product specifications, features, and component configurations; lead alignment and specification closure with customers and internal engineering teams to meet performance, reliability, and power objectives.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across engineering teams to address customer technical queries and issues promptly.
  • Develop clear, accurate, and customer-appropriate technical responses by consolidating and sanitizing information from internal engineering teams.
  • Review and refine customer-facing technical documents to ensure clarity, consistency, and appropriate messaging.
  • Support business and account teams in customer meetings, providing engineering expertise and influencing technical tradeoffs and decisions.
  • Deliver technical training to FAEs, marketing, and other internal teams on NAND technology, product specifications, usage models, application notes, qualification processes, and known issues.


Qualifications

REQUIRED:
  • BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • 10+ years of industry experience in NAND flash memory, storage products, or semiconductor technologies.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in NAND flash memory engineering.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive complex technical issues to resolution.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to balance engineering details, customer sensitivities, and business objectives.
  • Strong knowledge of NAND flash memory technology, including specifications, features, Toggle mode interface protocols, cell reliability, qualification, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in NAND application engineering or technical program management is a plus
  • Direct experience supporting OEMs, hyperscalers, or system integrators on NAND adoption, qualification, and productization is preferred.

  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York. This range may be modified in the future.
  • You will be eligible to participate in Sandisk's Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance. Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan.
