Full Job Description
Renesas is hiring a Product Assurance Manager to help lead quality execution for its rapidly growing Module business within the Performance Core Power group. This role is being created to address the increasing complexity of our module manufacturing footprint, and will serve as the primary connective tissue between our customers, our external manufacturing partners, and our internal teams to ensure that every module we ship meets the quality bar our customers expect, on time. You will own the customer-facing negotiation of quality and manufacturing specifications, translating customer requirements into clear, actionable standards that can be executed across our manufacturing flows. You will then work directly with our external manufacturing partners and ODMs to assess, qualify, and continuously monitor their quality systems and processes, ensuring they are capable of meeting the specifications agreed upon with our customers. When quality issues arise, you will act as the quarterback for resolution - driving root-cause analysis, pulling in cross-functional teams (design, test, product, applications, manufacturing, supply chain, and customer-facing teams) as needed, and ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented quickly and effectively. This is a highly cross-functional, externally facing role for someone who is comfortable owning outcomes without owning every function involved in delivering them. Success in this role will be measured by on-time, quality delivery of products to customers, speed and effectiveness of quality issue resolution, and the strength and reliability of our external manufacturing partners' quality systems. Key Responsibilities: - Serve as the primary point of contact with external customers to negotiate and finalize quality and manufacturing specifications for module products. - Partner with external manufacturing partners and ODMs to evaluate, qualify, and continuously monitor their quality processes and standards against agreed customer specifications. - Act as the quarterback for quality issue resolution - leading root-cause analysis and pulling in cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, test, supply chain, and customer teams) as needed to drive rapid containment and closure. - Own on-time, quality delivery of finished products to customers, proactively identifying and escalating risks before they impact schedule or quality. - Translate customer-specific quality requirements into clear specifications and drive their adoption across manufacturing partners and internal teams. - Track and report quality metrics and open issues to internal leadership and customer QA teams, ensuring alignment and transparency on status. - Drive corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans to closure with external partners, verifying effectiveness before issues are considered resolved. - Support structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, DMAIC) across partners and internal teams to build durable, repeatable quality processes. - Build strong working relationships with customer quality organizations and external manufacturing partners to enable fast, collaborative resolution of issues. Qualifications - 10+ years of experience in any one of a broad set of roles including quality engineering, product assurance, or manufacturing in the factory. - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, materials science, or a related technical field. - Strong communication and relationship-management skills, with demonstrated ability to negotiate specifications directly with customers. - Experience working with external manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, or ODMs on quality processes and standards. - Working knowledge of root-cause analysis and structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5-Why, DMAIC). - Ability to lead cross-functional teams through complex, time-sensitive quality issues without direct authority over all functions involved. - Comfort operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment as part of a newly created role supporting a growing product line. - Strong experience with semiconductor or module manufacturing flows, especially SMT, and supply chain dynamics is required. Additional Information We believe in rewarding our employees with a competitive benefits package alongside their salary. More information will be provided during the hiring process.
