Full Job Description
Responsibilities:
  • Lead next-generation power conversion system design for Solid State Transformer systems, including topology optimization, device selection, magnetics, and controls.
  • Own design execution and timelines while leveraging and mentoring a team of electrical engineers.
  • Develop frameworks for work breakdown, requirements decomposition, and design acceptance criteria.
  • Drive best-in-class solutions that balance efficiency, cost, safety, reliability, and customer use-case needs.
  • Lead simulation and optimization of power conversion approaches, ranking alternatives based on customer impact and key figures of merit.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams to advance power electronics packaging solutions.
  • Own EMC and compliance considerations by integrating them into architecture, requirements, and risk management processes.
  • Lead advanced controls development to unlock optimized performance for our products.
  • Define and track power electronics technical requirements throughout program lifecycles.
  • Lead complex root-cause investigations across hardware, firmware, sensing, and protection domains.

Qualifications:
  • Technical degree or equivalent experience in power electronics design and architecture.
  • 8+ years of experience in power conversion design, including at least 2 years of technical leadership mentoring 3+ engineers.
  • Proven track record of delivering industry-leading power conversion solutions, including at least one shipped high-volume PCBA.
  • Demonstrated expertise in simulation-driven design and figure-of-merit evaluation across topology, controls, devices, and magnetics.
  • Strong knowledge of EMC, high-voltage compliance, and functional safety.
  • Extensive experience collaborating with Sales, Design Engineering, Supply Chain, Applications, and Compliance teams to deliver harmonized customer solutions.
  • Evidence of delivering both strategic and tactical power electronics solutions.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward informed action and the ability to lead new initiatives with limited resources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10%, including internationally

Salary: $210,000-$240,000/annual DOE and location
