Position Description
INTERVIEWS TENTATIVELY SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER 2-3 2026
The Fresno County Administrative Office invites applications for the position of Senior Staff Analyst. The incumbent will be assigned to the Office of Housing and Homelessness and will perform a variety of professional assignments involving research, analysis, planning, evaluation, and administrative duties to support programs focused on housing stability and homelessness response; perform specialty assignments or act in a lead or supervisory capacity over lower-level professional and support staff; and perform related work as required.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, proactive, and demonstrates strong problem-solving skills while maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree that is acceptable within the United States' accredited college or university system.

Substitution: Full-time, paid paraprofessional or technical work experience with the County of Fresno may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Experience: Three (3) years of full-time, paid work experience equivalent to that gained as a Staff Analyst with the County of Fresno, administering and coordinating publicly funded homelessness or housing programs.
Substitution: Possession of a master's degree that is acceptable within the United States' accredited college or university system may substitute for one (1) year of the required Staff Analyst experience.
In addition to the options listed above, the following may also be required:

License: Possession of a valid Class "C" driver's license, or equivalent, may be required.

SELECTION PROCESS:

Pursuant to Fresno County Personnel Rule 4 - Selection Process, applicants may be required to complete an examination process and successful candidates will be placed on an employment list effective for a minimum of 3 months and certified in final rank order as vacancies occur.
