  • Support process improvements in accounting areas
  • Assist with ad-hoc accounting analysis and special projects

What the Role Is

We are growing and looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to join our team! You will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial records for our company. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving process improvements and implementing best practices across the team. What You'll Be Doing

Capital & Fixed Assets
  • Reconcile fixed assets on a monthly basis
  • Review and provide proper coding for vendor invoices related to fixed assets
  • Maintain supporting documentation for fixed asset additions
  • Record fixed asset additions and disposals
  • Prepare depreciation entries

Lease Accounting (ASC 842)
  • Prepare lease entries (rent expense and lease liability)
  • Maintain amortization schedules in lease tracking software
  • Reconcile lease subledger to the general ledger
  • Assist in recording sale leaseback transactions

Inventory & Prepaids
  • Reconcile inventory subledger to the general ledger
  • Review Cost of Sales and prepare necessary accruals
  • Maintain prepaid expense roll forwards (insurance, rent, and general prepaids)

Debt & Financing
  • Maintain debt roll forward schedule
  • Maintain loan fee amortization schedules
  • Record debt payment & interest expense entries

Tax & Audit Support
  • Prepare tax PBC schedules for external tax preparers
  • Prepare audit PBC schedules related to balance sheet accounts

Additional Responsibilities
  • Support ad-hoc accounting analysis, reporting requests, and special projects as assigned
  • Assist with process improvements related to capital expenditure, fixed asset, and technical balance sheet accounting areas


What We're Looking For

Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 5+ years accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or multi-entity environment

Preferred
  • Fundamental knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles
  • Proficiency in accounting software required. Experience with Dynamics Business Central or NAV is a definite plus
  • Detail and deadline-oriented
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of ASC 842 lease accounting and fixed asset management
  • Experience working with accounts payable, payroll, journal entries, and reconciliations (bank, credit card, and balance sheet)
  • Experience working in private equity a plus
  • Experience leveraging technology, improving processes and creating efficiencies driven
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, and data analysis tools
