Job Summary
The Staff Accountant is responsible for asset accounting and reconciliations, month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and monthly and quarterly reports for corporate in addition to custom reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform fixed asset accounting
- Generate and maintain financial records and reports
- Perform bank reconciliations for assigned accounts
- Perform reconciliations for balance sheet accounts
- Perform journal entries as part of the month end closing process for various transactions
- Assist with budgets
- Conduct internal audits
- Maintain accounts payable documentation
- File sales tax returns
- Assist Executive team and department leaders as needed and respond to information requests by management and for auditing purposes
- Backfill Payroll Department when needed.
Qualifications
Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
- Good problem-solving and time management skills.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of GAAP.
- Knowledge of PowerBI and SQL preferred.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting, finance or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in corporate accounting.
- Valid Driver's License.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Working Conditions
- Work is performed in a standard office environment with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Subject to standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting objects up to 25 pounds at times.
