Full Job Description
The selected candidate will join an existing team providing Life Cycle Sustainment (LCS) activities for commercial and custom-developed education, learning, and training applications. The role requires a self-motivated individual that is comfortable working in a team environment. This position will require working on a fast-paced team and a willingness to take on challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Perform database patching and vulnerability remediation in alignment with IAVA requirements, including compliance reporting across enterprise database systems.
• Maintain and administer Microsoft SQL Server environments (various versions) across on-premises and cloud-based infrastructures.
• Provide troubleshooting, maintenance, and operational support for database systems, including performance tuning, query optimization, and issue resolution.
• Execute database patching, upgrades, backups, restores, and routine maintenance to ensure data integrity, availability, and system reliability.
• Implement and manage database security, including user access controls, roles, permissions, and encryption standards.
• Utilize T-SQL and PowerShell scripting for automation of database administration, monitoring, and reporting tasks.
• Leverage AWS services, including RDS, EC2, Lambda, and CloudFormation, to deploy, manage, and optimize cloud-hosted database solutions.
• Support infrastructure as code initiatives using Ansible and Terraform for database provisioning, configuration management, and automation.
• Develop and maintain database automation scripts and monitoring tools to streamline operations and improve performance and uptime.

Required Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and ten (10) years of experience as a DBA. Fourteen (14) years of experience as a DBA may be substituted in lieu of a degree
  • Proficiency in managing SQL Server Databases
  • Must be able to work during core hours of M-F 10am-2pm. Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis

Desired:
  • DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting language
  • Experience in SharePoint migrations
  • Ability to clearly communicate ambiguous or highly complex concepts to all audiences

The estimated salary range for this position is between $160,000-$190,000 (annualized USD). This range reflects the typical pay for the role and is one part of the company's comprehensive compensation package. Actual salaries are influenced by several factors, such as location, the individual's education, skills, experience, and competencies, as well as contract affordability and organizational needs.
