As a Senior Specialist on the Epic Solution Delivery team, you will provide expert level support across multiple Epic modules, supporting complex development efforts and cross-functional projects. You will assist with overseeing full product lifecycles, and act as a key liaison between technical teams and stakeholders. In this role, you also mentor team members, ensure quality standards, and help shape the long-term vision for Epic system enhancements.
The work you will do:- Complex Design and Configuration: Involved in more complex design work, including conducting workflow assessments and proposing advanced Epic solutions for custom workflows or integrations. Reviews and analyzes detailed requirements and works to ensure proper implementation of solutions.
- Project Management Support: Assists with project management tasks, such as planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for Epic implementation projects. Leads smaller projects and development initiatives within Epic application. The Senior Specialist may take ownership of specific features, smaller development projects, and lead configuration and design for a module or advanced feature.
- Mentorship: Provides guidance and mentorship to Analysts and Senior Analysts on project tasks, troubleshooting, and Epic configurations.
- Quality Assurance & Testing: Ensures that systems meet user requirements by conducting detailed testing and validation. Identifies and corrects complex issues with no supervision.
- Stakeholder Interaction: Engages with clients and internal stakeholders more directly, ensuring system requirements are understood and met. Responsible for knowledge transfer/training of build solutions to end-users.
- Innovation and Feedback: Provides innovative ideas to stakeholders in support of improving system efficiency and user experience. Routinely provides regular feedback to Epic on possible improvements to the Epic system.
What you'll need:- 5+ years of experience in healthcare IT, Epic product development, and/or enterprise software delivery
- 5+ years of Epic experience, with a deep understanding of Epic system configurations, workflows, and best practices.
- Associate's Degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Informatics, or related fields or equivalent experience
- Advanced understanding of the Epic system and deep technical knowledge across multiple Epic modules
- Ability to take initiative and lead smaller project teams and development initiatives without supervision.
- Strong project management skills, including progress reporting, risk management and time tracking
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client-facing tasks and team leadership.
- The willingness and ability to adapt to rapid changes in the workplace, including but not limited to scheduling adjustments, workflows, policies, or processes. The ability to maintain agility & flexibility to changing business needs is essential
- Epic certification in one or more relevant applications completed and maintained
