Position Overview

 Senior Sound Mixer

Position Responsibilities

  • Perform high-end final mixing for feature films and TV series, ensuring a balanced, impactful, and cinematic sound.
  • Craft dynamic, immersive soundscapes by seamlessly blending dialogue, sound effects, foley, and music.
  • Adapt mixes to meet theatrical, broadcast, and streaming platform specifications, including Dolby Atmos, 5.1, and 7.1 surround formats.
  • Ensure that all mixes adhere to international loudness and technical standards, adjusting as necessary for different distribution platforms.
  • Work closely with directors, producers, and supervising sound editors to execute their creative vision while providing expert recommendations on sound enhancement.
  • Attend spotting sessions, offer creative input, and guide clients through the final mix review process.
  • Revise and refine mixes based on director and producer feedback, ensuring an efficient workflow without compromising artistic integrity
  • Operate high-end mixing consoles and digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools HDX, ensuring seamless integration with post-production workflows.
  • Stay at the forefront of audio technology and mixing techniques, incorporating new tools and processes to enhance efficiency and creative output.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical audio issues, optimizing playback environments and sound reproduction across multiple formats.
  • Provide guidance to junior sound mixers and re-recording engineers, fostering professional development within the sound team.
  • Contribute to establishing and refining best practices in sound mixing and audio post-production workflows.

Key Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in cinema/film, as well as: 

  • 5+ years of experience as a Sound Mixer or Re-Recording Mixer in feature films and high-end TV series.
  • Deep understanding of cinematic sound aesthetics, storytelling techniques, and industry standards.
  • Proven track record of working on high-profile, internationally distributed content
  • Expert-level proficiency in Pro Tools HDX and mixing consoles such as Avid S6 or similar high-end control surfaces.
  • Advanced knowledge of Dolby Atmos, 5.1/7.1 surround sound, and immersive audio workflows.
  • Strong experience mixing in theatrical, broadcast, and OTT streaming formats, ensuring compliance with platform-specific technical standards.
  • Solid understanding of ADR, foley, and dialogue editing processes.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate creative direction into technically flawless sound mixes.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining an impeccable attention to detail.
