Position Description: Take your career to the next level as a Senior Software Production Support Engineer. We are seeking candidates to lead operational support, monitoring, troubleshooting, and compliance activities across a complex enterprise data management ecosystem. This role is essential to maintaining high availability, reliability, and security across on prem and cloud data warehouse environments, analytics platforms, and production applications supporting mission critical data operations. This position is ideal for someone who loves diagnosing complex data and performance issues, improving operational workflows, and ensuring seamless production operations. This position is located in our Fairfax, VA or Lafayette, LA or Knoxville, TN office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities: . Lead production support activities across enterprise data platforms, including on prem data warehouses, cloud environments, and analytics/blending platforms such as Alteryx.
. Manage daily operational workflows such as data refresh processes, scheduling, monitoring, reconciliation, and error resolution to maintain reliable data management operations.
. Monitor system performance, availability, and health using platform native and enterprise tools; identify anomalies, assess risks, and drive remediation to ensure SLA compliance.
. Lead root cause analysis for production incidents, develop corrective action plans, and implement automated solutions to prevent recurrence.
. Support patching, upgrades, configuration management, and release deployments across production environments in collaboration with DevOps and engineering teams.
. Coordinate with developers, architects, database administrators, security teams, and cloud engineers to resolve defects, ensure stable operations, and maintain compliance with governance frameworks.
. Oversee incident, service request, and problem management activities, ensuring proper documentation, escalation, communication, and closure.
. Ensure operational documentation is maintained accurately including SOPs, runbooks, job workflows, incident response procedures, and technical configuration baselines.
. Monitor adherence to security, audit, data governance, and compliance requirements throughout all production activities.
. Support Agile teams by identifying production impacts from new features, providing input to backlog items, and participating in sprint ceremonies where operational readiness is required.
. Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives around automation, observability, performance tuning, and operational efficiency.
. Provide on call or after hours support as needed for critical incidents, deployments, or system outages
Required qualifications to be successful in this role: . At least eight (8) years of experience managing and leading Data and/or Analytics operational and compliance tasks with enterprise scope and complexity.
. Strong background supporting enterprise data warehouse operations across SQL Server, ETL/ELT pipelines, data refresh cycles, scheduled jobs, and performance troubleshooting.
. Experience operating and supporting cloud based data platforms such as AWS and Snowflake (warehouses, roles, pipelines, performance tuning).
. Demonstrated expertise in monitoring, incident management, operational diagnostics, and root cause analysis across hybrid data ecosystems.
. Experience with production support of analytics platforms, including workflow based tools such as Alteryx and Business Objects (including environments undergoing transition/sunset).
. Working knowledge of DevSecOps, CI/CD processes, environment configuration, automated job management, logging, and alerting frameworks.
. Strong understanding of enterprise change control, release management, configuration management, and governance procedures.
. Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical issues to developers, leadership, and business stakeholders.
. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent hands on technical experience.
Desired qualifications/non essential skills required:
Experience supporting federal analytics, data, or compliance driven operational programs.
Familiarity with data governance frameworks, lineage tools, and metadata management practices.
Experience with automation scripting for operational tasks (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
Experience supporting SAFe/Scrum Agile teams.
ITIL certification or relevant service management credentials.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $79,600.00 $156,700.00.
