Job Description

About the Team

Our Product Management team combines technology, software, services, and product experiences to create radically helpful experiences for users. We research, design, and develop new technologies and capabilities that make our users' interaction with sound more seamless, immersive, and powerful. Whether finding new ways to hear the world around us, advancing what our products can enable users to do in their homes, on the go, or in their cars, or creating new tools that accelerate how Bose develops and evaluates experiences, the Bose Product Management team is making people's lives better through innovative technology.
About the Job

The Bose Software Platform team is crucial to delivering best-in-class experiences that are highly connected, differentiated, and increasingly intelligent. We are looking for a Product Manager to join our Software Platform Product Management team, with a focus on software development platforms, cloud services, automated value assessment, and AI-enabled tools and skills that accelerate product development across Bose.

As a Senior Platform Product Manager at Bose, you will define and drive platform capabilities that make it easier and faster for teams to develop, integrate, evaluate, and deliver differentiated experiences. You will work closely with software engineering, cloud engineering, research, product teams, and external technology partners to identify common needs and translate them into scalable platform capabilities.

A key part of the role will be helping Bose modernize the way we develop and assess new technology. This includes enabling cloud-based capabilities and services; creating common development, integration, and experimentation tools; building automated methods for evaluating the performance and customer value of new capabilities; and identifying where AI, agents, and reusable AI skills can accelerate engineering, product development, testing, analysis, and decision-making.

You will connect near-term product requirements with longer-term platform investments, ensuring that the capabilities we build today can be reused broadly and evolve to support new Bose experiences in the future.
A Day in the Life

Start your day with a scrum with a software platform team, staying informed on development progress, removing ambiguity in requirements, and helping prioritize upcoming work. Before lunch, work with product, research, and engineering teams to define how an automated evaluation framework could objectively assess the performance and customer value of a new technology across multiple products.

After lunch, review usage and experiment results from a new cloud service, identify opportunities to simplify integration for product teams, and translate those learnings into roadmap priorities. Later, meet with engineers exploring AI-enabled development tools and reusable skills that could automate common workflows, accelerate analysis, or improve development velocity.

Round out the afternoon by working with stakeholders across Bose to align on platform priorities, communicate progress, and ensure that investments in shared software, cloud services, automation, and AI tooling are delivering measurable value.
Responsibilities
  • Guiding Platform Strategy: Define and communicate the software platform strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives while enabling scalability, reuse, flexibility, and rapid development.
  • Advancing Software Development Capabilities: Identify common development needs across teams and define shared tools, frameworks, services, APIs, and workflows that improve engineering productivity and accelerate delivery.
  • Driving Cloud Services Strategy: Define requirements and roadmaps for common cloud services that support Bose products, platforms, development workflows, data, experimentation, and emerging intelligent experiences.
  • Building Automated Value Assessment: Develop approaches for automatically measuring and comparing the technical performance, customer value, quality, and differentiation of new capabilities. Enable teams to use consistent data and evaluation methods to make faster investment and prioritization decisions.
  • Advancing AI-Enabled Development: Identify and prioritize opportunities to use AI, agents, and reusable AI skills to accelerate software development, testing, analysis, experimentation, documentation, product management, and other development workflows.
  • Creating Reusable Platform Capabilities: Identify capabilities being developed independently across Bose and determine where shared platform solutions can improve reuse, consistency, speed, and efficiency.
  • Understanding Internal User Requirements: Develop a deep understanding of the needs of Bose product teams, developers, researchers, and partners and translate them into scalable platform requirements.
  • Facilitating Innovation: Collaborate with Research and Engineering teams to understand emerging technologies and ensure the platform provides the capabilities required to efficiently turn new technologies into product experiences.
  • Using Data to Drive Investment Decisions: Establish success metrics and use telemetry, experimentation, benchmarking, automated evaluation, and customer insights to determine where platform investment creates the greatest value.
  • Communicating with Stakeholders: Regularly update internal and external stakeholders on platform progress, value delivered, challenges, trade-offs, and future direction.
  • Build broad consensus across multiple product and engineering teams on overall platform direction and influence other teams' roadmaps accordingly.
  • Define solutions for complex user and developer needs and be viewed by Engineering, Design, Research, and Product partners not simply as a facilitator, but as a full partner and leader in innovation.
  • Use a high-level perspective to define goals and create a vision for cross-functional development teams while maintaining enough technical depth to make effective trade-offs.
  • Build a platform strategy that enables Bose to deliver differentiated experiences today while creating foundations that accelerate future innovation.
  • Translate platform strategy and roadmaps into well-defined capabilities, features, user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Clarify, document, and communicate developer, customer, product, and business requirements to engineering teams.
  • Drive resolution of technical and product trade-offs where decisions impact platform capabilities, reuse, priority, developer experience, or delivery schedules across teams.
  • Reinforce customer value, developer productivity, reuse, and whole-product thinking when driving cross-functional requirements and investment decisions.
  • Break down complex platform opportunities into incremental capabilities that can deliver measurable value early and improve iteratively.
  • Operate in an iterative development environment, continuously reviewing business needs, refining priorities, defining milestones and deliverables, and identifying opportunities and risks.
  • Prioritize and maintain platform backlogs, balancing immediate product requirements with investments that provide longer-term leverage across Bose.
  • Use data, experimentation, automated evaluation, and fast feedback to assess quality, performance, adoption, and value.
  • Partner with organizational stakeholders to inform product vision, platform strategy, development practices, features, prioritization, and go-to-market considerations.

  • Experience defining products or platforms used by software developers, technical teams, or multiple internal product organizations.
  • Understanding of modern software development practices, architectures, cloud technologies, APIs, data services, and development workflows.
  • Experience using data, experimentation, benchmarking, or automated testing and evaluation to inform product decisions.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled development tools, generative AI, agents, AI skills, or workflow automation and an understanding of where these technologies can materially improve development productivity.

  • Solid Technical Foundation: Strong technical understanding developed through education, professional experience, or close partnership with software engineering organizations.
  • Strong understanding of software product development, system and cloud architectures, developer workflows, and the challenges associated with delivering technology at scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to bridge technical possibilities, developer needs, customer value, and business priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with cloud architecture, distributed services, developer platforms, APIs, data platforms, or software development infrastructure.
  • Experience building or managing internal developer tools, development frameworks, automation platforms, or shared software services.
