The Job

WB Games Boston is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the team! In this position, you will be architecting, implementing and maintaining key game systems and features for Game of Thrones: Dragonfire.

What part you'll play
  • Architect, develop, maintain, and improve systems to support our mobile game client
  • Assist with general game development, including, but not limited to: gameplay features, optimization, UI, and bug fixing
  • Collaborate with engineers, feature owners, and people across many disciplines like design and art to determine the requirements for new game systems and deliver them in a complete and timely fashion
  • Mentor junior engineers to improve their skills
  • Contribute to best practices on software development, game design, features, and tools.
  • Participate in code, game, and architecture reviews, offering constructive feedback that will support a best-in-class title and codebase

What do we need from you?
  • 4+ years of software development experience
  • In depth knowledge of Unity3D, preferably for mobile game development
  • Strong C# programming skills and knowledge of common data structures and software design practices
  • The ability to work in a collaborative environment and effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical team members
  • The ability to work unsupervised and assist other engineers as needed
  • Sound judgment in applying model-assisted coding effectively across varied tasks
  • A growth mindset, an attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and take feedback
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with:
  • Building asynchronous or synchronous multiplayer games
  • Using or implementing gRPC and RESTful services
  • Git
  • Developing for iOS and/or Android
  • Mentoring other engineers
  • Contributing to team AI practices through shared context (e.g. AGENTS.md, rules)
  • Golang, AWS, or other server technologies
  • Playing and/or developing 4X strategy mobile games
  • Familiarity with the Game of Thrones television series and/or series of books

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $108,500.00 - $201,500.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
