Position Summary...

What you'll do...

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with strong software engineering fundamentals and hands-on experience building Generative AI powered applications and platforms. This role is ideal for an engineer who can combine modern software development expertise with Gen AI innovation to build scalable, intelligent, and reliable solutions.
You will own end-to-end feature delivery, design robust systems, integrate AI capabilities into products, and collaborate across engineering, product, and business teams to solve complex customer and associate problems.

Key Responsibilities

Application & Feature Delivery
  • Own delivery of scoped features, services, APIs, user experiences, or AI-powered capabilities from design through production support.
  • Drive implementation, testing, iteration, deployment, and ongoing enhancements for assigned systems.
  • Align engineering execution with broader platform, product, and business objectives.


Software Engineering & Development
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using technologies such as Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar modern languages.
  • Write clean, secure, efficient, and maintainable production-quality code.
  • Build and enhance REST APIs, microservices, backend services, and user-facing applications.
  • Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, telemetry, and observability solutions.
  • Conduct code reviews and support defect management, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.


Generative AI / Intelligent Systems
  • Build and integrate Generative AI solutions using LLMs, AI agents, and machine learning services.
  • Develop AI-enabled workflows using prompt orchestration, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), vector search, and external/internal APIs.
  • Partner with product teams to identify high-value Gen AI use cases that improve customer experience or internal productivity.
  • Optimize AI solutions for latency, cost, scalability, reliability, and responsible AI practices.
  • Leverage AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or equivalent to improve engineering productivity.


Solution Design & Technical Leadership
  • Translate high-level requirements into detailed technical designs, architecture flows, and scalable implementation plans.
  • Evaluate technical trade-offs and recommend solutions aligned to long-term architecture strategy.
  • Participate in design reviews and champion software engineering best practices.
  • Mentor engineers through technical guidance, code quality standards, and knowledge sharing.


Operations & Reliability
  • Own production quality, service health, and operational excellence of delivered systems.
  • Monitor system performance, investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive improvements.
  • Ensure systems meet reliability, security, and availability expectations.


Collaboration & Execution
  • Work cross-functionally with Product Managers, Program Managers, Designers, Data Scientists, and Engineering teams.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Drive accountability, execution excellence, and continuous improvement across projects.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years of software engineering experience building scalable applications or platforms.
  • Strong hands-on coding experience in Java and/or Python.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, distributed systems, microservices, object-oriented design, and system architecture.
  • Experience with SQL / NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with CI/CD, testing automation, monitoring, and Agile delivery models.
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience building Generative AI or LLM-powered applications.
  • Experience with LangChain, orchestration frameworks, vector databases, prompt engineering, or RAG architectures.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, or event-driven systems.
  • Experience with observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or OpenTelemetry.
  • Experience in retail, eCommerce, supply chain, logistics, or customer service domains.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
