TITLE: Senior Software Engineer
DUTIES: Lead the end-to-end development of customer-facing travel web applications, with a primary focus on frontend architecture and user experience optimization. Design, develop, and deploy new features specifically for high-traffic travel booking platforms integrated with third-party APIs. Act as a customer- and product-focused engineer. Collaborate closely with product managers and UX designers to translate business requirements into technical solutions tailored for Rocket Travel's partner platforms. Conduct advanced A/B testing and data-driven feature enhancements to improve conversion rates and customer engagement, leveraging in-depth knowledge of travel industry user behavior. Utilize with React and GraphQL, with the opportunity to learn and make contributions on the backend. Stay abreast of emerging frontend technologies and advocate for the adoption of tools and frameworks that align with the company's product vision.
REQUIREMENTS: Requires Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field of study and 5 years of progressively responsible experience in any job title/occupation/position involving developing scalable and maintainable software solutions. Experience specified must include each of the following: 5 years of experience with at least one modern programming language, such as Java, Scala, Kotlin, C#, Python, or JavaScript; 5 years of experience with software development principles, including object-oriented programming, design patterns, and data structures, including schema design and query optimization for dynamic travel data; 3 years of experience with building and maintaining distributed systems and microservices architecture; 3 years of experience with relational and non-relational databases, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB, specifically for storing and retrieving travel booking and user profile data; 2 years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (such as Git), and agile development practices; and 2 years of experience in implementing A/B testing frameworks and analyzing user interaction data to drive product decisions in the travel technology domain. Telecommuting permitted up to 5 days per week.
