Full Job Description
As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be a hands-on technical leader who ships. Your main mission for the year ahead is to design, build, and launch our React Native companion app and get it into the App Store and Google Play. You'll work independently where it counts and alongside our web, API, and design teams to bring our compliance platform to mobile. You'll own features from end to end across a unified TypeScript stack, and you'll set the bar for quality, accessibility, and reliability along the way.

We have built a large-scale compliance platform for licensed professionals. It runs on a cloud-native monorepo with a unified TypeScript stack. We work in a regulated space, so ADA compliance (WCAG 2.1 AA) and solid engineering matter here in a concrete way: real people use this to keep their licenses and their jobs.
What success looks like in your first year
  • Our React Native companion app is live in the App Store and Google Play, and licensed professionals are actually using it.
  • The mobile app shares logic and types with our web platform instead of forking into a second codebase.
  • The app holds the same accessibility and reliability bar as everything else we ship.
  • The engineers around you do better mobile and full-stack work because of the patterns and reviews you put in place.
What you'll do
  • Own the React Native companion app from architecture through app-store release, instrumentation, and the iteration that follows launch.
  • Work side by side with the web application team to build out new features for both web and mobile.
  • Ship full-stack features across accessible React UIs, type-safe APIs, and a GraphQL layer over several data stores, from first design to production.
  • Weigh architectural trade-offs and explain them clearly to both technical and non-technical people, so engineering decisions stay tied to business goals.
  • Stay accountable for what you ship. That includes instrumentation, handling incidents, and the analysis afterward.
  • Make the team better through careful code reviews, mentoring, and sharing what you know.
  • Improve how we deliver software: our testing frameworks, our CI/CD pipelines, and the tooling that gets in everyone's way when it's not right.
What you bring to the team
  • You've built and shipped mobile apps to the App Store and Google Play (React Native strongly preferred), and you know what app review, release, and the messy weeks afterward actually take.
  • Deep hands-on full-stack experience with React, Node.js, TypeScript, and modern cloud-native development. You're still the person who writes the hard code.
  • Strong system-design instincts. You think about reliability, scalability, how things fail, and what a codebase feels like to maintain years later, and you build with that in mind.
  • Real production experience with AWS, modern CI/CD, observability, and running the systems you build.
  • Comfort tuning data access across relational, NoSQL, and search systems.
  • A track record of setting technical direction and mentoring engineers on a collaborative, asynchronous, distributed team.
  • Good judgment about when to pay down technical debt and when to keep shipping.
  • Experience building accessible web applications (WCAG 2.1 AA)

On seniority: the experience above usually adds up to something like 8 or more years building and running production systems. We care more about what you can do than the exact number.
Nice to have
  • Familiarity with our stack: oRPC/tRPC, Pulumi and Better Auth
  • Native mobile experience (iOS or Android) alongside React Native.
  • Prior work in accessibility-critical or heavily regulated environments.
Technologies you'll use
  • Mobile: React Native (the companion app is a core part of this role)
  • Frontend: React 19, TanStack (Router, Query, Form), Tailwind CSS, Figma Design System, WCAG 2.1 AA
  • Backend: Fastify, TypeScript, oRPC, PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, Redis
  • Cloud and infrastructure: AWS (Lambda, SQS, SES, S3, Fargate, RDS, Secrets Manager), Pulumi, GitHub Actions
  • Quality and operations: Vitest, Playwright, OpenTelemetry, Turborepo, pnpm
  • AI-assisted development: Claude Code, Copilot
