Senior Software Engineer

San Mateo, CA

Role Overview

Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC seeks a Senior Software Engineer in San Mateo, CA to lead rapid prototyping of proof-of-concept (PoC) research initiatives in computer graphics, computer vision, and machine learning to evaluate feasibility of emerging algorithms for production deployment.

Requirements
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent and three (3) years of experience working on R&D of human modeling and simulation systems for hardware design and machine learning (ML) algorithm optimization; performing camera and image sensor simulations to enable computer vision (CV) and ML applications; applying CV AI and ML techniques, including object detection, tracking, and recognition to address internal downstream tasks, including face related tracking for VR/AR headset hardware; utilizing modern computer graphics pipelines and frameworks, including OpenGL, Vulkan and DirectX to contribute to data generation projects; employing computer graphics simulation technologies focused on human modeling, including hair, muscle, and skin deformation to simulate/generate hyper realistic assets; utilizing 3D animation tools and middleware game engines, including Maya, Blender, Unreal Engine and Unity to develop 3D CCD content for assets generation; using machine learning frameworks, including TensorFlow and PyTorch for system design and data processing; and applying AR/VR development techniques to create immersive graphics experiences.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
