Position SummaryOdyssey is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer supporting the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Armament Directorate Munitions Division (AFLCMC/EBH) at Hill AFB, UT.This position supports the government in applying advanced engineering principles to the design, development, integration, and sustainment of software-intensive systems across the full acquisition lifecycle. This role involves working closely with program offices, engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, mission-critical capabilities that meet performance, operational, and mission requirements.
Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Support engineering activities across all phases of the DoD acquisition lifecycle (Materiel Solution Analysis through Operations & Support)
- Apply software engineering principles to support system design, development, integration, and sustainment efforts
- Support requirements development, analysis, traceability, and verification for software and system-level capabilities
- Perform system design, integration, and technical analysis to ensure performance and mission effectiveness
- Develop and review technical documentation, including system specifications, interface control documents, and engineering reports
- Support technical reviews and program milestone activities (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR)
- Collaborate with program management, logistics, test, and cybersecurity teams to ensure integrated system performance
- Analyze system performance and recommend improvements to enhance functionality, reliability, and maintainability
- Support risk identification, analysis, and mitigation planning for technical and program risks
- Provide technical input to acquisition documentation and program decision-making processes
Qualifications
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Must have and be able to maintain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and 15 years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree in related discipline and 10 years of relevant experience; OR PhD in related discipline and 5 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting system development, integration, or sustainment activities
- Experience applying engineering principles to support the development, integration, and sustainment of software-intensive systems
- Experience supporting requirements development, analysis, traceability, and verification within complex programs
- Experience contributing to system design, integration, and technical evaluation activities across the acquisition lifecycle
- Experience supporting technical reviews and program milestones (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR)
- Experience working within DoD acquisition environments or similar large-scale engineering programs
- Master’s degree in related discipline and 25 years of relevant experience and recognized at the national level in Software Engineering; OR PhD in related discipline and 25 years of relevant experience
- ABET-accredited MS and/or BS degree in computer science

- Software development, integration, and testing within complex system environments
- Familiarity with engineering tools, modeling, and simulation environments supporting system design and analysis
- Ability to analyze system performance and develop technical solutions to improve functionality and reliability
- Knowledge of configuration management practices and technical documentation development
Interpersonal Skills:
- Ability to operate independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities applied to complex technical challenges
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey technical information clearly
- Ability to support mission-critical programs in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to evolving program needs
