CompensationThe anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $112,900.00
- $188,100.00. This role is eligible for an incentive target of up to 10 %, based on the achievement of individual and company performance objectives in accordance with the current terms of the incentive program which are subject to change.

Position Details We are seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer (Software Engineer III) to join our Customer Information Management (CIM) team. The team's mission is to improve the quality, accuracy, and reliability of customer address data by providing trusted address services to other internal teams. By reducing service errors and ensuring consistent address information across the application, the team helps deliver a seamless user experience wherever customers interact with address-related functionality.
In this role, you will work on the end-to-end development and support of scalable, secure, and reliable APIs and backend services. You will be responsible for designing, coding, configuring, testing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining application software and systems, ensuring solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with technical and business requirements.
You will collaborate closely with engineering teams, product managers, architects, stakeholders, and other business partners to translate requirements into effective technical solutions. You will also establish monitoring and observability practices, troubleshoot production issues, improve system performance, and contribute to the ongoing reliability of the API ecosystem.
As a senior member of the team, you will provide technical leadership, participate in design and code reviews, promote engineering best practices, and mentor junior engineers.
This position reports to the Sr Manager, CIM Product Engineering, and is based in Chicago on a hybrid basis, in the office 2 days per week.

You Will: - Build applications and develop product design solutions in partnership with engineers, architects, and analysts leading to scalable and maintainable software solutions
- Utilize Backend specialized skills based on Java and observability practices using Datadog
- Implement continuous delivery activities (CICD) and drive engineering best practices
- Support team activities and pair with peers to work on stories
- Coach and mentor junior engineers
- Consistently practice sensible defaults
- Collaborate with product managers, architects and designers to understand user requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Promote effective team practices and shape team culture.
You Have - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
- 3+ years of experience with modern software engineering; designing, building, and deploying scalable software applications required
- Understanding of distributed system design
- Experience analyzing and interpreting complex problems and processes
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization technologies.
- Hands on experience with Java, Spring Boot for back-end development.
- Experience with database technologies such as PostgreSQLa
- Proven experience collaborating across teams to develop and implement software solutions
Preferred:- Experience integrating with RESTful APIs and third-party services.
- Worked with messaging systems like Kafka and caching mechanisms like Redis
- Assisted with software and data related technical issues.
