We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and delivery of scalable web applications for PetPlace's Shelter platform. This role combines hands-on full-stack development, technical leadership, architecture guidance, and mentorship, leveraging React, TypeScript, .NET/C#, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and modern API-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable web applications.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to developers.
Review solution designs and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture.
Participate in PI Planning and collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Promote development standards, code quality, and engineering best practices.
Conduct code reviews and contribute to architectural and technical decision-making.
Required Skills & Experience
Senior-level experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern web application development.
Strong React experience
Experience with at least one full-stack React framework (Next.js, Remix, React Router 7, SvelteKit, etc.) — familiarity with SSR, file-based routing, and server/client boundaries is the key transferable skill
Strong .NET/C# development experience and experience building server-side applications with Node.js.
Experience designing and optimizing PostgreSQL databases.
Familiarity with Drizzle ORM
Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
Technical Competencies
Strong understanding of Git workflows, pull requests, branching strategies, and code reviews.
Ability to write maintainable, scalable, and well-documented code.
Experience working with and evolving existing codebases and architectures.
Strong understanding of software design principles, architecture patterns, and security best practices.
Ability to evaluate technical trade-offs and deliver pragmatic solutions.
