You'll join CustomerLake, an NYC-based engineering organization building a new generation of agentic customer-data applications on Databricks. The team is developing Customer Data Platform capabilities across Customer 360, Reverse ETL, Customer Intelligence, and Profile Agents, helping customers unify and activate customer data, understand their customers, and automate complex workflows. CustomerLake is a high-priority 0-to-1 initiative focused on moving Databricks further up the stack toward end-to-end products for technical and business users.

Within CustomerLake, you'll focus on the enterprise capabilities that make these products secure, controllable, and scalable for the world's most sophisticated organizations. You'll build across permissions and access controls, audit logs, pricing and entitlement controls, governance, and administrative experiences. This is a specialized, backend-leaning full-stack role for an engineer who understands what enterprise customers need to confidently adopt and manage mission-critical SaaS products at scale.

The impact you'll have:
  • Build the enterprise capabilities that enable large organizations to securely adopt, administer, and scale CustomerLake products
  • Design and develop robust permissions, roles, and access-control systems for complex enterprise environments
  • Build auditability and governance capabilities that give administrators visibility into user activity, configuration changes, and sensitive operations
  • Develop pricing, entitlement, usage, and product controls that enable organizations to configure and manage how products are consumed across teams and users
  • Design scalable backend services, APIs, and data models that power intuitive administrative and management experiences
  • Translate sophisticated Data, IT, Security, and Platform administrator requirements into simple, reliable product experiences
  • Build systems that balance flexibility and ease of use with enterprise expectations around security, compliance, control, and reliability
  • Own projects end to end, from architecture and technical design through implementation, launch, and iteration
  • Partner closely with product management, design, security, infrastructure, and other engineering teams to shape CustomerLake's enterprise product strategy

What we look for:
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience building and shipping production systems
  • Deep backend engineering experience with the ability to work across the full stack and own features end to end
  • Experience building enterprise SaaS products or working on enterprise-focused engineering teams
  • Experience building one or more of the following: permissions and access controls, authorization systems, audit logs, entitlements, pricing or usage controls, governance, security, or administrative tooling
  • Experience designing scalable backend services, APIs, data models, and distributed systems that support complex product experiences
  • Strong understanding of the needs of Data, IT, Security, or Platform administrators operating software across large organizations
  • Demonstrated product mindset, with the ability to turn complex enterprise requirements into intuitive and pragmatic solutions
  • High ownership and bias for action in 0-to-1 environments, with comfort navigating ambiguity, making technical trade-offs, and driving projects from idea through production
  • Strong experience with server-side technologies such as Java, Python, Scala, Go, Node.js, C++, or similar
  • Experience with modern frontend technologies such as React, Angular, Vue.js, or similar frameworks
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to partner effectively with product, design, security, infrastructure, and engineering teams
