Full Job Description
Essential Job Functions:

  • Design and develop innovative Dolby Imaging/Video algorithms and software.


  • You will contribute to new technical architectures to support the strategic imaging technology innovation pipeline across all ecosystems and in all device categories.


  • Your responsibilities include taking proof-of-concepts in emerging imaging technologies and productize them to deliver high-performance, high-quality software libraries.


  • Implement performance optimization of algorithms.


  • Able to work in fast-paced working environment; Agile teamwork experience is a plus.


  • Partner with the QA-team to enhance the test-setup including hardware, software, and Test Automation environments.


  • Follow best practices for source control development, continuous integration, automated testing, and release management.


  • Produce and maintain useful and usable documentation of work.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering with an emphasis and passion for multimedia technologies.


  • Experience in coding with C and C++.


  • Understanding of C/C++ code optimizations to accelerate on CPU processors using multithreading or SIMD instructions.


  • Microsoft Windows or Linux development experience is required.


  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.


Desired:

  • Experience and/or background in video and image processing is a plus


  • Experience accelerating C/C++ code to accelerate on GPU processors using graphics programming languages (OpenGL, Vulkan or Direct3D) is a plus.


  • Experience accelerating C/C++ code to accelerate on GPU processors using compute programming languages (CUDA or OpenCL) is a plus.


  • Experience developing and deploying Machine Learning algorithms in a production environment is a plus.


  • Experience with implementing C++ inference support for ONNYX models using onnxruntime and/or other runtimes.


  • Experience with OpenCV or OpenMP is a plus.


  • Experience porting MATLAB code to C/C++ is a plus.


  • Expertise with Python is a plus.


  • Exposure to Perforce or Git and Jira.


  • Knowledge of video technologies, cinema and television production and post-production workflows.


  • Knowledge of HDR technologies such as Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG is a plus.


The San Francisco/Bay Area base salary range for this full-time position is $137,100-$188,300, which can vary if outside this location,plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
