About the role As a Senior Engineer on the Custody team, you will play a key role in architecting, building, and maintaining Paxos' crypto custody infrastructure and applications. You'll use your deep technical expertise and hands-on skills to deliver secure and scalable solutions, collaborating closely across functions to help shape our technological direction and execute complex projects.
What you'll do - Design, develop, and maintain mission-critical custody systems across multiple blockchains.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, compliance, and infrastructure to define system architecture and technical requirements.
- Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of our services through best practices in software design, testing, and deployment.
- Optimize existing issuance infrastructure to enhance performance, reduce latency, and improve operational efficiency.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Stay informed about emerging trends in blockchain, distributed systems, security, and financial technology to drive innovation within the team.
- Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical decision-making processes.
About you- 5+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Golang or Java preferred; Kotlin, Rust, Python, or C++ also valued.)
- Solid foundation in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed system design.
- Experience building and maintaining cloud-native services using tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, and AWS.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, especially in production environments.
- Excellent collaboration and communication abilities; able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience working on high-throughput, low-latency systems, trading infrastructure, cryptography, or custody platforms is a strong plus.
- A passion for innovation and driving technical solutions to real-world problems.
