The OpportunityAs a Senior Software Engineer at Ally, you will design, build, test, and support software that powers critical customer and business experiences. You will own meaningful technical solutions from design through production, work independently within squad priorities, and mentor less-experienced engineers.
This is a hands-on role for an engineer who balances near-term delivery with quality, security, reliability, and long-term technical health. We value the ability to solve problems, learn new technologies, and use AI development tools effectively.

The Work Itself- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support production software.
- Own features and technical solutions from design through implementation and support.
- Write and review code using traditional, automated, and AI-assisted development approaches.
- Collaborate with Product, Architecture, SRE, Cybersecurity, Risk, and partner engineering teams.
- Improve software quality, reliability, maintainability, and developer productivity.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.

The Qualifications We're Looking ForMinimum qualifications:- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent
Preferred qualifications: - Professional experience building and supporting production software in a complex environment.
- Strong engineering fundamentals with depth in at least one programming language or technology domain.
- Ability to independently drive solutions, raise risks, and seek alignment when needed.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
- A production mindset that considers security, reliability, observability, maintainability, and customer impact.
Core Technologies - Experience with some of the following: Python, Java, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, React Native, Angular, Spring, REST APIs, automated testing, CI/CD, Git, AWS or Azure, and connecting to backend SQL databases.

Base Pay Range$85,000.00 - $150,000.00
An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.
Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
