Full Job Description
Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Java backend development, and modern frontend web technologies to serve as a technical lead for our team.

This role is ideal for a senior engineer who can go beyond implementing individual features and take ownership of technical design, architecture, development quality, and delivery across complex web applications. The successful candidate will be a trusted technical resource for the team, helping establish strong engineering practices, mentor other developers, solve complex technical problems, and ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and delivered with high quality.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable designing an architecture, reviewing code, troubleshooting a production issue, or jumping into the code to solve a difficult problem.

What Success Looks Like

The successful candidate will become a trusted technical leader within the team-someone developers turn to when they need help solving a difficult problem, evaluating an architecture, reviewing an implementation, or troubleshooting a complex issue.

They will bring a combination of deep technical expertise, strong engineering judgment, hands-on development ability, ownership, and a collaborative mindset. They should be capable of independently driving a technical solution from design through implementation and delivery while helping raise the technical capabilities and quality of the entire team.

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Architecture
  • Serve as a technical lead and go-to resource for the development team.
  • Lead technical design and architecture for complex AEM and web applications.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
  • Evaluate technical approaches, identify risks and tradeoffs, and recommend solutions.
  • Establish and promote development standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
  • Partner closely with architects, product owners, business stakeholders, and other engineering teams.

Backend Development
  • Architect Component Solutions: Design AEM Components, Content Fragments, Sling Models and robust backend logic to drive dynamic HTL/React components.
  • Develop Core Platform Logic: Architect modular OSGi Services and RESTful Sling Servlets to handle backend business logic and process HTTP requests.
  • Build Event-Driven Architectures: Implement robust OSGi EventHandlers and JCR Event Listeners to handle asynchronous repository events, content changes, and background jobs.
  • Build Java Spring Boot APIs: Design and implement RESTful services using the Spring Boot framework, integrating with PostgreSQL database, deploying to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and publishing to Apigee.
  • Lead System Integrations: Integrate with Adobe Analytics, ElasticSearch, and OAuth Authentication Providers.
  • Enforce Code Quality: Lead code review to enforce coding standards, security, and performance.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot complex AEM, Dispatcher, caching, URL mapping, and publishing issues.

Frontend Development
  • Develop modern, responsive web experiences using TypeScript and React.
  • Understand modern frontend architecture, including component-based development, API integration, SSR, headful and headless architectures.
  • Translate UX designs into high-quality technical implementations.
  • Understand the interaction between frontend applications, AEM, APIs, and content delivery platforms.

Team Collaboration & Mentorship
  • Act as a trusted technical resource and mentor for other developers.
  • Help developers solve complex technical problems and grow their technical capabilities.
  • Strengthen the team's overall engineering practices and technical expertise.
  • Foster a collaborative environment where developers can openly discuss technical approaches and challenges.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
