JOB TITLE:         Senior Software Engineer

LOCATION:        Irving, TX

DUTIES:  Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using Django REST Framework (DRF) to manage various operations, ensuring seamless data flow and integration across systems. Validate incoming data using serializers to guarantee accurate and complete input for all requests, maintaining data quality in high-volume environments. Implement token-based authentication, permissions, and scopes to secure API access and protect sensitive business data. Design and execute business logic for data validation, management, and retrieval, addressing complex operational needs and ensure alignment with strategic objectives. Develop comprehensive error handling mechanisms to deliver meaningful error messages and enhance user experience across applications. Incorporate logging and monitoring solutions such as New Relic to track API performance, user interactions, and system health in real-time. Manage database interactions using PostgreSQL, focusing on data integrity, consistency, and efficient querying for large datasets. Optimize API performance through efficient data retrieval and processing techniques to support scalable, high-traffic applications. Create and maintain unit tests to ensure code reliability, achieve high coverage rates, and minimize production bugs. Containerize Django applications using Docker, including the creation of Dockerfiles and Docker Compose configurations for consistent deployments. Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, building, and deployment of Docker containers, streamlining development workflows. Design and implement additional modules to enhance core applications, integrating them seamlessly with existing APIs and systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and stakeholders, to deliver high-quality features on schedule. Document API endpoints, business logic, Docker configurations, PostgreSQL database schemas, module specifications, and deployment processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintenance.

REQUIREMENTS:  Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, and 6 years of experience in the job offered or as a Senior Python Developer, Senior Software Engineer, or in a related/similar position. Experience therein to include 6 years in the following:

Python, SQL, Data Structures and Algorithms, MongoDB;

Amazon Web Services, Docker, Django;

REST, GraphQL, DRF, Unit Test, New Relic CI/CD pipelines;

Postman, VSCode, PyCharm, GitLab;

Agile methodology, API creation and integration.
