The role:The Senior Software Develop is accountable to their Manager to assist with the technical leadership of resources in completing the design and programming for all assigned application software initiatives. This includes the maintenance and enhancements as well as the evaluation and implementation of vendor software packages, creation of custom in-house applications, enhancements to existing applications, application maintenance and upgrades.
Skilled in aligning resources to business and development priorities and schedules, the Senior Manager, must establish and maintain effective working relationships with all internal clients and partners to understand Meridian and departmental strategies, plans and priorities.
Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership:- Lead a team of developers in designing, coding, and testing software applications.
- Collaborate with project managers to define technical direction and project schedules.
- Evaluate and implement vendor software packages, ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
- Create custom in-house applications and enhance existing ones.
System Design and Programming- Analyze high-level functional and technical requirements.
- Design software architectures, considering scalability and cross-functional needs.
- Develop and maintain system components, ensuring adherence to coding standards.
- Troubleshoot and optimize applications.
Relationship Building- Establish effective working relationships with internal clients and partners.
- Understand Meridian's strategies, plans, and priorities.
- Align development efforts with business goals.
Application Maintenance and Upgrades- Maintain existing applications, addressing bugs and performance issues.
- Evaluate and implement upgrades to enhance functionality.
- Document changes and provide technical support.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- A sound knowledge of software development processes, analysis, design, tools and techniques
- A good understanding of resource assignment planning/monitoring/correction
- A solid understand of the COBIT framework and Application Development Lifecycle (ADLC) methodology
- Strong technical/working knowledge of the Microsoft Software Development platform, especially .Net, C#, SharePoint and SQL 2019/2022
- Familiarity with Software Charge, Configuration Management and Build Processes
- A proven team builder
- Proven experience on enterprise systems integration projects
- Strong interpersonal skills - ability, tact and diplomacy to work effectively and build relationships with all levels of staff
- Ability to prioritize and plan workload, meet deadlines and adjust plans to changing needs
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs with innovative solutions
- Capable of working with a high degree of autonomy
- Enthusiastic approach to work and the leadership skills required to motivate a team to meet or exceed goals

Salary Range:CAD 79,100.00to 118,700.00 annually
Compensation for this role is based on a combination of skills, experience, and internal equity. Candidates with stronger alignment to the role's requirements may be placed higher within the range. Your recruiter will share more information about our total rewards package during the hiring process.
Office Location:Toronto Corporate Office with the ability to travel to our St. Catharines office as needed. This is a hybrid work opportunity.
