JOB DESCRIPTION

The Software Developer Senior Principalwilllead full stack web application development, demonstrate expertise in cloud-based technologies like Kubernetes, and support the full software development lifecycle to include designing, developing, deploying, and optimizing critical applications. This is ahybridrolelocatedin Fort Bragg, NCwiththeoptionforflex hours.

As a Software Developer Senior Principal, you willplay a critical role inpartnering with product managers to understand customer requirements, designing enterprise full stack applications, and demonstrating hands-on experience with modern JavaScript frameworks and cloud technologies to ensure robust, scalable, and secure solutions for some of the nations most consequential missions.

Job Duties(INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO)

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade full-stack applications, including building complex UIs with React and TypeScript, developing RESTful services in Go (Gin), managing relational data in PostgreSQL, and deploying containerized applications using Docker.
  • Build complex, interactive UIs using modern React patterns, including state management, data fetching (e.g., React Query), component libraries (e.g., MUI), and advanced features such as drag-and-drop, data visualization, and document generation.
  • Integrate frontend applications with RESTful APIs and real-time data streams (e.g., WebSockets).
  • Deploy, orchestrate, and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes.
  • Leverage tools like Elasticsearch and OpenSearch to implement efficient search, indexing, and data retrieval capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, architect solutions, and deliver clean, maintainable code.
  • Participate in major application rewrites, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and user-friendly.
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing codebases and workflows.
  • Document software designs, development processes, and system functionality.
  • Apply best practices in DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud development.
  • Proactively identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Support application testing, debugging, and deployment processes.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 8+ years of software development experience, with strong proficiency in web application development.
  • Experience designing schemas, writing efficient queries, and optimizing performance in relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
  • Deployment of containerized applications using Docker; experience with Kubernetes or other orchestration platforms is preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications in hybrid cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with modern development practices, including CI/CD, version control (Git), and Agile methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a "figure-it-out" mindset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced, dynamic team environments.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contract requirements.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms
  • Familiarity with message queueing systems like Kafka
  • Experience working with Elasticsearch and/or OpenSearch for indexing and search functionalities
  • Understanding of modern DevSecOps principles
  • Experience with additional object-oriented programming languages, like Python

The likely salary range for this position is $146,200 - $197,800. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
